Student Victory at Moot Court Competition Second-year law student Sara Belvill took top honors at the 2012 Paul A. McLennon Jr. Honors Moot Court Competition. Belvill argued for the respondent in a fictional case, inspired by a recent Seventh Circuit decision, that focused on an association of atheists and agnostics who sued to invalidate the National Day of Prayer statute.

The final-round oral argument was presided over by the Honorable M. Margaret McKeown, circuit judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit; the Honorable Thomas C. Ludington, district judge for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan; and the Honorable Ronald F. Frazier, San Diego Superior Court judge.
