Alumni ’62 Joseph E. O’Connor passed away on November 2, 2015, at the age of 81. He served in the United States Navy as a pilot. He practiced law in Point Loma until his retirement in 2006. He is survived by his wife, six children and grandchildren.

’63 Rex Lee Shuffler, 83, passed away on March 2, 2016. He practiced law in Orange County and is survived by his wife.

Colonel Rufus Calhoun Young Jr. passed away on June 16, 2016, at the age of 75. He was senior deputy attorney for San Jose and practiced at Burke, Williams & Sorensen LLP until 2014. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and seven grandchildren.

The Honorable Harry R. McCue, 88, passed away on July 3, 2016. He was a second Magistrate Judge in the Southern District. He is survived by his first wife, four sons, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, second wife, her three children, and two granddaughters. Joe N. Turner passed away on November 11, 2015, at the age of 81. He was a senior partner with Higgs, Fletcher & Mack

in San Diego. He is survived by two daughters.

William E. Blatchley passed away on August 20, 2015, at the age of 70. He was a certified family law specialist from 1994 until his retirement in 2013. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter and four grandchildren.

’68 Walter M. Kaye passed away on August 30, 2015, at the age of 72. He practiced law for over 30 years before retiring from his firm, Walter M. Kaye and Associates. He is survived by two daughters.

’80 The Honorable Diane Dal Santo passed away on July 11, 2015, at the age of 65. She served for 15 years as a prominent judge in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is survived by her husband, daughter and two grandchildren.

’70 Donald Philip Lang passed away on May 24, 2016. He founded his accounting firm, Lang and Brown, 48 years ago, which is still thriving today. He is survived by his wife, two children and five grandchildren.
