OFFICE OF SPONSORED PROGRAMS
2020-21 Annual Report Over the course of the 2021 fiscal year, research activities continued across the university despite the numerous challenges encountered due to the transition to remote work during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) was vital in supporting faculty and staff by providing technical and compliance assistance, identifying potential funding sources, developing proposals and budgets, and submitting proposals to sponsoring agencies. OSP negotiated
contracts and other award agreements, accepted award documents, administered post-award non-financial tasks, including subawards, award modifications, no-cost extensions and budget revisions. During this fiscal year, 72% of proposals submitted and 55% of awards received were for research. Awards represented in this report reflect extramural funding accepted by the university.
