RESPONSIBILITY

To support emerging careers in sustainability, the University launched several new degree programs: the nation’s first Master of Science in Climate and Health, a two-year graduate program offered by the Miller School of Medicine and the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science; a Master of Science in Sustainable Business in the Miami Herbert Business School; and a Master of Professional

Science in Urban Sustainability and Resilience, offered jointly by the College of Arts and Sciences and School of Architecture.

The University of Miami hosted the first Miami Climate Symposium, held over three days at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and

Atmospheric Science and on the Coral Gables campus, bringing together scientists and experts on extreme weather patterns that are linked to climate change.

The University of Miami earned a STARS Gold rating in recognition of its sustainability achievements from the Association for the

Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.

The Miami Herbert Business School achieved

LEED Gold Certification for Existing Building Operations and Maintenance from the U.S. Green Building Council for its environmental performance and sustainable operations.
