Accelerating interdisciplinary discovery

As construction of the Frost Institute for Chemistry and Molecular Science nears completion, the University is poised to take a leading role in advancing scientific research that changes lives.

In 2016, Phillip and Patricia Frost, pictured at left, made a landmark $100 million commitment to create the Frost Institutes for Science and Engineering. The first of these interdisciplinary research hubs, the Frost Institute for Chemistry and Molecular Science, is set to open its doors in the summer of 2022. Patterned after the National Institutes of Health and its network of affiliated institutes, the Frost Institutes will elevate the University’s science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) endeavors to address some of the most pressing and complex problems confronting the world.
