Walk along the city sidewalk & take the elongated steps between the buildings. 3 With each long step, draw the mind closer to recovering memories. 4 Turning left around the edge of the building stands tall the two-story glass faรงade of vinyl records. 5 Gaze upon the wall in a moment of suspension before entering the retreat. 6 Walk through the wall of records, entering into the collection room. 7 Browse the collection of vinyl records, selecting the one thought upon during the walk up. 8 With the record in hand, take the glass staircase and step away from the present heading towards the past. 9 Once the top of the glass stairs is reached, enter the enclosed room, shut out from the busy city. 10 Walk over to place the vinyl record on the turntable, and go through the motions of playing the memorable record. 11 As the record spins, take the spiral stair case down, 12 entering in the room first seen along the streetscape. 13 Standing. Sitting. Dancing. This final space allows for full immersion in the re-experience of memories, fully re-membered by a song. The open glass front looking out on to the city, then grounds the memory and emotions.

The Hobbyist: Vinyl Record Retreat
448 sqft. - Urban - Fall 2014 Skills Used: Research / Sketching / Programing / Rhino / Adobe IA, PS, ID / Model / Presntation
The Hobbyist: Vinyl Record Collector Retreat, is based in a busy urban setting, tucked away between two high-rise buildings. The street view is of only three large windows, raised a few feet from the ground with an elongated staircase adjacent to it. This unique entrance stands out from a typical storefront, to provide a sense of exclusion. The Retreat is for, one who desires to re-experience a memory that can be re-membered by the sight, smell, touch, movement or sound of a vinyl record. This built environment designed with the intent, that every step the user takes will pull them deeper into their memories, yet remain grounded in the present.

FRESHLY LINKED:
Freshly Linked is about raising awareness of genetically modified organisms and linking people with information to encourage them to improve their food quality. It is programmed so you can experience almost all your senses at once at any point in the building. There is a large organic movement that links all of the spaces together overhead. The entire center of the building over the stage is open, therefore you can smell the food being cooked at all times and also hear and see the music being played if there is a concert going on.

Narrative 1
Plan Grid
The opening act. Puddin’ walks onto stage trying to play her viola when all of a sudden she hears this voice encouraging her. She pictures that she is center stage in Carnegie Hall playing for an audience. She has a representation of her favorite stuffed animal, Mr. Wuzzlebutt, standing by and cheering her on.
Narrative 2
Plan Grid
A loud noise seems to be following Puddin’. At school, at home, even sometimes in her imagination. The loud grumble is forcing her to make decisions to fuel her energy. Puddin’ is a active little girl, but the grumble is holding her back. She is always fighting with it.
Narrative 3
Plan Grid
Puddin’s grandma loves to sing, sometimes she sings to much. Puddin doesn’t like it when grandma sings, but there isn’t a day that goes by when there isnt a tune in grandma’s house.

It’s Puddin’s first day at her new school and of course she is running late. She can’t find her classroom and it running frantically around the hallway while the grumble chases her for the first time. Eventually, she makes it to math but the class is over.

The grumble is really starting to annoy Puddin’. She skipped lunch because she had no lunch money, and now the grumble is telling her to steal an orange from the cafeteria. The grumnble wins the argument and Puddin’ steals an orange for the first time.

air rights are becoming an increasingly advantageous way in which buildings can occupy a buildable work-plane above an existing structure. this was a collaborative project in which my partner and i were tasked with designing a boutique hotel intermixed with an art gallery. this all took place within the air space of the historic train station in the haymarket of Lincoln, NE.
adu or Accessory Dwelling Unit can be used to re-densify areas of cities that have spread out developments. the site for this project was in the backyard of an old house in Lincoln, Ne. with this project a large wall was used to split the space of the backyard and was used to build the adu off of. there is a studio space that almost hangs out into the alley like jewel for the project.

Contextualizing Site - Rural Occupation arch 311 | spring 2015 Alliance, NE. My focal The site for this project was set in the Sandhills near Allianc points for this potash research facility were to represent the process of potash production through materiality, and to have the building both above and under ground, following the natural movement of the Sandhills, in order to maximize the experience of the site.
ARCH 4th Yr Church of Re-birth - Sacred Architecture arch 410 | fall 2015 Having the location set in the heart of downtown Lincoln, NE, we were challenged to design sacred architecture in an active urban setting. My goal of the project was to tell the story of Christianity through intentional uses of materials, light, and spacial connections, while creating an appropriate amount of isolation and connection between the church and downtow downtown.

The building is made up of two major pieces which are both split and connected by a bright and open atrium space between theInstitute two. The design takes advantage a Healthcare I Munroe Meyer slope running along it, dropping one story from north to south. Each program wraps around the atrium allowing for simple wayfinding and a constant connection to the central piece of the building. To the north, the stairs rise up to the rec therapy entrance on the second floor. A traditional stair splits a multi-level “stair” made up of platforms of varying heights which are used as an active space bringing an energy and activity to the atrium as they rise up. A walkway surrounds the atrium allowing the user to experience the space from multiple areas. The saw tooth roof is designed and oriented to control the natural lighting in the atrium by drawing in the northern light from above while blocking out the light from the south. This design takes advantage of natural light, programmatic proximity, and a grade change in the site, to enhance the user experience of the facility, by creating an open, bright, connected, and accessible space.

3 YEAR M.ARCH ARCHITECTURE
Eupnea Eupnea is a mountain hut that celebrates the clear, Semprevisa Mountain air. Its structure is composed of two elements, an inner membrane to protect from weather, and an exterior structure, constructed with engineered wood, that houses the interior membrane. Eupnea originates as a medical term, meaning relaxed breathing. This hut promotes this concept by raising and lowering of the interior membrane which mimics breathing, through the cycles of night and day.

1 The weather-proof membrane is stored under the floor. 2 The hooks are attached to the membrane. 3 The membrane is raised. 4 The membrane is now prepared and ready to be occupied. 5 The Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL ) beams are arranged by a stacking technique with notches creating the external structure.
