The interview How did you two meet? Sydnee: We were on the way to Bloomington Lake. We sat next to eachother and talked pretty much the whole entire way! Ryan: In our friends suburban, on our way to Bloomington Lake. She was sitting in the middle, I sat next to her. It was an hour and a half drive and we talked the whole way there. What was your first impression? Sydnee: When I first met him I felt like I had known him forever. He was seriously the nicest person I had ever met. Ryan: Wow, this girl is really pretty! She was also really easy to talk to. What did you do on your first date? Sydnee: He took me to sushi, although I didn’t know if it was a date or not! A few days prior, I had told him that I had never tried sushi before, so he 8 | Ryan & Sydnee

said we would go try it. I guess it was our official first date cause he paid for the meal! Ryan: I consider our first date when I took her out to sushi and bought her meal for her, but you will have to ask her cause she didn’t know if it was a date! Who initiated the first kiss? Sydnee: This is a funny question if you know our first kiss story. It was him! Ryan: That’s a whole other story in itself, it was definitely me! Who was the first to say “I love you”? Sydnee: Ry told me he loved me first. He told me not to feel pressured or forced to say it back, and that he just wanted to let me know. I ended up saying it a few weeks after that! Ryan: Once again, that was me. I told her I loved her when we went to Las Vegas together. We were in my sisters movie room. What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about each other since you started dating? Sydnee: I absolutely hate roadtrips. I would rather

fly anywhere than sit in a car and drive, but Ryan makes roadtrips so fun! I never thought I would love driving in a car but he has surprised me and showed me how fun it can be. He just makes everything so much fun. Ryan: She has introduced me to a lot of new foods I have never tried that are absolutely delicious! Who would have ever thought that sweet potatoes were so good? We have also become more goofy with eachother and she loves to make her own covers of songs even if they’re not the right words! What is one of your favorite memories? Sydnee: My favorite memory with him is Summer 2015. I’m not sure why, but it was just so unexpectedly great. We both moved to Provo just for the summer and I was really nervous and thought I would hate it there. He was so positive about everything and even though it was hard for the first few weeks, it got so much better after that! It made me realize that if we had to move somewhere we didn’t want to in the future, we would make the best out of it! He made me realize we can learn to love any place and have fun no matter where we are. Ryan: My most favorite memory is our first roadtrip together. We drove from Logan to Las Vegas. The whole 7 hours we talked, laughed, and made a playlist that we still have. What is your favorite thing about each other? Sydnee: I absolutely love that he can make me laugh whenever he wants. Not a day goes by that he doesn’t make me laugh. He can always cheer me up if I’m in a bad mood. Ryan: I love how sweet and caring she is. She’s always concerned about everyone’s well being. I also love that she can read me like a book. She always knows what’s going on with me and I can never get anything past her, and I love that. When did you know you were meant to be? Sydnee: I was really in love with him but I didn’t really realize it until we went on spring break with some friends. I was with him for 10 days straight and I thought I would get sick of him, but I actually fell more in love with him! Ryan: I definitely knew that Syd was the one before she knew that I was the one for her. I kind of wanted to keep it quiet until she would give off hints that I could be the one as well. The biggest thing that stuck out to me was after I met her family. I just got a good feeling. At the end of the day I remember thinking I would be crazy not to marry a girl like her. She couldn’t be more perfect. # SandRbigday | 9

The proposal story It was a normal day. I went to work, came home and called Ryan to see what he wanted to do for dinner. He told me that his grandma wanted to have us over for dinner later that night. So I took a quick nap and then got a call from Ryan. He told me he was waiting outside. So I hurried and got up and we left. He had told me that his grandma needed something from target and that we needed to stop by. So we stopped by and of course, I got distracted and ended up in target for almost 45 minutes. (Little did I know, he was trying to distract me.) After being in target for that long I noticed we hadn’t even gotten what his grandma needed! He barely even looked for what it was that she needed and was being very rude about it. I was pretty hungry & ready to go eat dinner so we hurried to his grandma’s house. Once we got there, we sat down, visited, and started to eat. Ryan was on his phone the whole time we were eating and talking with his grandma and I was so bugged with how he was acting. This was so unlike him. He was acting really different.

He stood up and left the table to “go help his cousin in the basement.” I continued talking to grandma Shelia, and she finally got me to go outside to look at all her new flowers in her backyard. As I walked out there I noticed there were a ton of lights. I didn’t really realize what it was for until I kept walking down the stairs on the back deck...and there Ryan was! My sister, Lindsey, was standing in the background taking a video. I had no idea that she was even in town so that was a surprise itself. One of my best friends, Kiley, was also there. It looked so beautiful...there were individual letters that lit up that said “marry me” and candles everywhere. Ryan’s little cousin, Brayden, came out and delivered the ring on the cutest pillow. It was such a special night and I was so surprised! After he proposed, everything else clicked! Kiley kept telling me I should wash my hair because it looked dirty (I didn’t end up washing it), he took me to Target to distract me, and he was on his phone a ton to plan everything! It was such a perfect night.
