REGIONAL FOCAL POINTS AFRICA Sandra Kemeh, Ghana Sandra Kemeh is at the completion stages of a joint master between the United Nations University – Institute of Environment and Human Security and the University of Bonn, Germany. She has a background in geography, resource development, environmental risk and human security. Sandra brings to the table her experience and status of young scientist on the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) Programme and junior fellow in the Africa Good Governance Network (AGGN). sandra.kemeh@childrenyouth.org Janet Atunga, Kenya Janet Atunga is a commerce (accounting) graduate from the University of Nairobi in Kenya. She is currently serving as the national coordinator for the National Movement of Catholic Students Kenya (NMCS-K), which is an affiliate member of the International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS). REGIONAL FOCAL POINTS EUROPE Lydia Cumiskey, Irland Lydia Cumiskey is a PhD researcher at the Flood Hazard Research Centre, Middlesex University London for the System-Risk ETN project. She is a guest researcher at Deltares, The Netherlands where she worked for four years on disaster risk management research and consultancy projects. Lydia started working with UN MGCY in 2014 in preparation for the 3rd UN World Conference on DRR and the Children and Youth Forum in Sendai, Japan. lydia.cumiskey@childrenyouth.org Federico Zindato, Italy Federico Zindato is a 23 years old italian law student at "Mediterranea" University of Reggio Calabria and civil servant for UNICEF. He has experience in the social integration of unaccompanied migrant children and the promotion of SDGs and human rights, related to migratory flows and general disasters. REGIONAL FOCAL POINTS AMERICA & CARRIBIEAN Michelle Marteleira, Canada Michelle has a M.A. in Planning, specializing in Disaster and Risk Management, from the University of British Columbia, and currently works on Indigenous disaster resilience and international climate change adaptation projects for research organizations, NGOs, and the private sector. Michelle has been an HQP member of the Marine Environmental Observation Prediction and Response Network (MEOPAR) since 2014. michelle.marteleira@childrenyouth.org Daniel Calarco, Brasil Daniel Calarco, 19 years, born in the countryside of Brazil, moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he studies law and international relations at university. Through the International Youth Watch he is supporting different projects to promote and protect the rights of marginalized youth. CONT. AMERICA & CARRIBIEAN Saúl Zenteno Bueno, Mexico Saul is an international business student in Universidad del Valle de Mexico and presides over The Manatee Foundation. At the local level, he works in citizenship building initiatives. He is also very engaged in the defence of human rights of migrants’ in transit in southern Mexico related to the Central American Humanitarian Crisis. REGIONAL FOCAL POINTS MENA Martine Zaarour, Lebanon Martine finished her studies at the Lebanese American university and today she is working as an architect. She has a passion and work towards social rights for all people in the community. DRR SCIENCE-POLICY INTERFACE FOCAL POINT Robert Sakic Trogrlic, Bosnia and Herzegovina/ Croatia Robert Sakic Trogrlic is a PhD student and Hydro Nation Scholar of the Scottish Government at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, researching community-based approaches to disaster risk reduction in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has experience in adaptation mainstreaming, urban flood resilience and hydrology.
