UNNA POLO AT BUTTALS POLO CLUB Perhaps you’ve watched polo from the sidelines, and wondered how you might give it a try. Or maybe you’re high-goal standard, keen to sharpen your skills. Whatever your experience, Buttals Polo Club welcomes you, with a tailored program to enjoy this noble and pulsating sport. THE CLUB century, stationed at the Garrison Savannah. Buttals Polo Club is a warm and friendly club, dedicated to, in the words of Winston Churchill, “the finest sport in the world”. Our facilities include a large round sand track, practice track and a main polo field, coupled with expert coaching, hand-picked ponies and top class equipment. Indeed, everything you need to discover or enhance an exhilarating polo experience is here. BUTTALS’ POLO MANAGER AND INSTRUCTOR Meet Salvador Sanchez Duggan, the club’s Polo Manager who has spent the last decade guiding players and the club. Born in polo-obsessed Argentina, he has a true passion for horses and polo and has worked in Argentina, the U.K. and Barbados. He is not only a professional player of hp.2. standard, but a great coach and communicator. He has introduced countless novices to the sport, as well as developed the game of many seasoned professionals.

SOME FAQs The school Who can learn and play? Anyone is welcome, even if you have never sat on a pony before. But if you have, we can assess your capabilities and tailor your experience with us. When is the school open? The school is open from December through May. Mondays to Fridays, at the following times: 9:00 am to 12 noon, except on public holidays.

How are the lessons taught? Private lessons are the fastest way to pick up polo. This enables Salvador to give you exclusive one-on-one attention to developing your riding and ball-striking techniques. Group lessons are also available, so you can learn as a family or with friends. Salvador will customise your session according to numbers and capabilities. Instructional chukkas when you’re ready, these are a first introduction to competitive polo, with Salvador on the field with you to help you get the best from your game. What to bring I don’t have any polo attire. Not a problem. All you need is a pair of jeans, a comfortable shirt, and shoes or boots with a slight heel. The club provides you with a safety helmet, chaps and a mallet (stick).
SAFETY Buttals Polo Club takes safety seriously. This includes providing carefully selected ponies and equipment, and assessing your competence at each level of your progression. Please be aware that polo is a physical sport requiring a good standard of health and fitness. • • • •

All participants must complete and sign the Application and Waiver forms. BRING YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY Buttals has a welcoming clubhouse with a great view of the polo field. We can arrange delicious food and cocktails so any non-playing members in your party can relax in style while you get to grips with the game.
