Launched in 2013, CodeCrush has grown to be the largest iSTEM immersion experience for 8th/9th grade girls and their mentor-teachers in the Midwest. CodeCrush consists of two immersion experiences and a summit that are designed to show participants the innovative world of IT. During the immersion experience the girls learn about a number of topics including IT innovation, bioinformatics, digital forensics, mobile app development, and much more. Teacher-mentors attend separate parallel sessions exposing them to various IT topics. By building a community of students, teachers, mentors and role models, CodeCrush works to bring more diversity to the IT landscape and empower everyone to close the IT gender gap.
