No matter if you’re a first-year, transfer, or a returning student, there are a lot of options to help offset the cost of your education. UNO offers scholarships, expanded financial aid programs, reduced tuition programs, and more. The Office of Financial Support and Scholarships has representatives who can help find the solution that makes sense for you.

SCHOLARSHIPS • Scholarships are based on merit and/or financial need. • Need-based scholarships require completion of the FAFSA. • Other scholarships may require separate applications and deadlines. Apply as early as possible to ensure that you meet the various scholarship deadlines. • Graduating high school seniors will automatically be considered for many of our first-year student scholarships by applying to UNO by February 1 of your senior year.* * Does not apply to transfer students. The Academic Career and Development Center (ACDC) advises exploratory students before they have completed 45 credit hours and helps them by identifying relevant majors, careers, and Academic Focus Areas related to their interests. The Henningson Memorial Campanile was dedicated on May 18, 1989, and rings every 15 minutes. It plays well-known songs such as the Harry Potter theme, America the Beautiful, and, of course, the UNO fight song.

FIRST-YEAR STUDENT CORE COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

RECOMMENDED HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM • English: Four years • Math: Three years including Algebra I & II, and Geometry • Social Sciences: Three years including two years of American and/or World History, American Government, and/or Geography • Natural Science: Three years including a lab course • Foreign Language: Two years of the same language • Elective: One additional year from any listed above

TRANSFER STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: Transfer applicants are required to meet the following criteria: • Completed transferable coursework from a regionally accredited collegiate institution following high school graduation • Graduated from a regionally accredited high school or have completed the equivalent academic training (GED) • Meet the GPA requirement for the program to which you applied • Be in good academic standing at your previous institution(s)
