Welcome from Debbie Hamlett

Happysummer! Nothing says summer quite like a breeze at a picnic, a fun bike ride, some crisp sweet watermelon and the sun washing over your face while you catch the smell of a fresh cut lawn. Summer is a magical time!

I’m honored to be joining Milwaukee PBS as its first woman General Manager and excited to be exploring my new hometown, thank you for your warm welcome. I hope to meet you soon - in the meantime, drop me a note to let me know what you love about Milwaukee PBS. How has it made a difference in your life? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

My work and passion for public media spans more than twenty something years. Recently, I attended the PBS annual meeting where people gather from across the country to see what’s coming up this year. A few highlights include a program on the origins of gospel music by Dr. Henry Louis Gates, a show on Funk music, everyone was moving during those previews! A new season of GREAT AMERICAN RECIPES (yum), a renewed emphasis on environmental documentaries with THE HUMAN FOOTPRINT, SPY IN THE OCEAN series (fascinating animal look-alike robots), NATIVE AMERICA SEASON 2, SOUTHERN STORYTELLERS, AMERICAN BUFFALO BY KEN BURNS and a lot more!

Sixty-five years ago the Frisbee and Sputnik were launched along with Milwaukee PBS.

MASTERPIECE: GRANTCHESTER SEASON 8

Grantchester returns with Will happily married to Bonnie, and Geordie and Cathy content in their rebuilt relationship. But an accident and shocking announcements threaten the stability and happiness found by Grantchester’s vicar and police detective duo. Exploring faith, forgiveness, and redemption, this explosive season of Grantchester tests Will and Geordie to the limit.
