Ioan beaming after win Ioan Morosanu, pictured right, showed both skill and speed during the latest outing of the Fly Fishers, writes Gordon Wray. The club visited Chiphall Trout Lake near Fareham on a bitterly cold February day. The fish were deep down and it needed an intermediate line to reach them, a fact ignored by some anglers who really struggled to tempt the fish. Not the case for Ioan, who bagged up in smart style early on with a weight of 10lb 8oz. It wasn’t until late afternoon that the fish switched on and most anglers saw some real action from the hard-fighting rainbow trout that Chiphall is known for.
Kids team up with AFC
The fish fell to a variety of both lures and imitative patterns with Gary Austin taking the prize for the biggest rainbow at 3lb 2oz. Well done both anglers.
SUNRISE SERVICE & MOT CENTRE
AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust teamed up with NHS staff to run training sessions for pupils as part of Children’s Mental Health Week. Bournemouth-based King’s Park Academy and Oak Academy students got the chance to play football drills and games, learning new skills while working in a team. The sessions were devised with Dorset HealthCare’s Mental Health
Support in Schools Teams service and centred around the theme of the week: Growing Together.Later, pupils chatted with AFC Bournemouth female players Helen Corbin and Jade Bradley. The service has been running for just over two years and is currently working with schools including in Christchurch, Blandford, Gillingham, Wimborne and Ferndown.
