The Department Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Cities has recently merged with the Department of Communications and the Arts to form the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications (DITRDC). DITRDC provides an environment in which all Australians can access and benefit from communications services, creative experiences and culture.
DITRDC oversees internet, television, phone, radio and post communications and connectivity.

DITRDC's work involves: - Strategic advice and policy development - Program and grants management - Regulatory management - Collaborative stakeholder engagement

Graduate Opportunities
DITRDC offers an 11-month graudate program in Canberra. Applicants with degrees in public policy, law, sciences and communications are highly valued.
Graduates complete three placements and may be given the opportunity to develop policy for broadband and mobile connectivity, regulate airports, provide advice on strengthening our national broadcasters and postal services, and implementing the Smart Cities Plan.

Fun Fact / Recent Project
Classification regulation In 2020, DITRDC conducted a review into Australian classification regulation. The purpose of the review was to update the criteria used to classify films, episodic series and video games. Public consultation has ended and the final report is currently being prepared.
