1.1

KITCHEN CABINET The customer asked for a fitted cabinet for her kitchen with space for fridge, oven and microwave. The client required a classic style cabinet to match the existing kitchen and she requested to refrain from using vertical handles.

BEACH HOUSE GAZEBO The requirements of the customer were to extend the area of the old gazebo (3x3 m) and to create a path from the gazebo to the stairs and utility room. The new pergola (3x4 m) has a manual retractable roof that can be opened and closed depending on the use or on the weather (e.g. it can offer protection from the wind) The patio has been extended using the same style of stones as the existing patio (Brasilian pink quartzite). Diagonal aluminium supports have been added to give the structure more stability.

RESTAURANT TOILETTE The men’s bathroom was the first to be designed. To keep the cost down the floor tiles will not be changed, and nor will the toilet and sink. The tiles from the bottom to the centre of the wall will stay in place, and the rest will be removed. All the accessories will be substituted. The renovation will cover all areas of the restaurant. The bathrooms are stage 1 of modernization. The customer asked to renew the women’s bathroom without removing the tiles. The render is a test for a proposal of contrasting colours. Project is on hold due to coronavirus.

ECO PODS Eco pods combine contemporary design and eco-friendly materials. The modules are made to be connected. Every module (16 m2) is made with a pyramid ceiling, skylight, and a ceiling sliding door to enjoy the outside. Eco modules are completely off-grid and autonomous thanks to solar energy supply and heating. The design combines three Eco pods plus an open veranda to enjoy the outdoors. The self-catering holiday home accommodates 2+1 persons.

FOR_REST The For_rest cabin provides accommodation and a meditation space into the heart of the forest. The shape of the construction blends into nature following the lines that nature created.

1. Food storage and kitchenette 2. Bed and meditation area 3. Multifunctional area: dining, shower, dry toilet, hob and heating system

The shape of the cabin simulates the curve of the hills surrounding the area, the wooden cladding is alternated with glass windows, and the vertical lines follow the geometry of nature

KEPPIE DESIGN STUDIO The project was to design a contemporary art studio located in the Keppie Basement. This studio was designed for Ai WeiWei, a sculptor, photographer and painter. This design is minimalist and it mixes features of the gothic building with contemporary elements. This open space studio uses natural light as the principal source of light. The relaxation area is made of plexiglass to increase the amount of light coming through. All the items of the studio can be moved, depending on the artist’s needs.

EXHIBITION STAND The concept behind this furniture display is the upcycle. It is designed for a hypothetical exhibition stand of PIET HEIN EEK at Salone del Mobile in Milan. The space is accessible from three sides. The meeting area is open and the big screen shows advertisement to attract visitors that walk by.
