-How to Contact Exec

Letter From the President Grace Larsen

As the year comes to an end, we want to thank all chapters for making 2016 such a joy to serve on pan exec. We encourage everyone to apply to be on the 2017 executive board and have just as much of a rewarding experience as we did. Good luck on finals and have a wonderful Christmas break!

Tips for the month:

How to Build Your Resume

What goes on a resume? -Name and contact information -Objective or summery statement -Work Experience -Volunteer and extracurricular experience -Education

A resume is not crazy but there are some basic guidelines to building your resume. Example what type of position you are looking for. In the summary statement put a snap shot of your qualifications and what your employment goals are. List your work experience and include the dates you worked as well as the position’s responsibility. However, D]don’t feel you have to put down all the experience you’ve ever had. Put down only what is relevant for the job you’re applying for. When putting down your extracurricular activities, be sure to put down ones that prove you are hard working, have leadership abilities, commitment and reliable. List any skills that you can offer which include working with a computer, a specific program, any languages or experiences pick up through your education. Tailor you resume for the job you want. Create a model as a general resume then feature certain items for certain interviews. Writing is important! Double even triple check your spelling and grammar. Ask your family, friends, even a professor to look over your resume before submitting it anywhere!

This month Chi Omega has had so much fun bringing in the fall season! We had our annual Fall Ball with Sigma Phi Epsilon, and we had a blast giving back to the community with them. For Make a Difference Day our members went to Shiloh Field Community Garden. They helped harvest crops and clear out garden beds, and all of the crops produced by this garden are donated back to people in the Denton community. We had our Big and Little reveal ceremony, and all of our new members finally have a family within our sisterhood! On October 28th we had our Halloween social event called “Owloween. Everyone brought a date, and we all dressed up in crazy, silly, or scary costumes! With homecoming right around the corner, we are so excited to have our sister, Alexis Skipper, nominated for Homecoming Court. We are so proud of you, and you represent our chapter flawlessly.

th n o M e h t f o n a m o W ic n Panhelle The woman behind the letters

Hannah Fisher This month’s Panhellenic Woman of the Month was nominated by her chapter because of her dedication to her chapter and the Panhellenic community as well as her caring nature towards all of her friends. “I would like to nominate Hannah Fisher for Panhellenic Woman of the Month! I am nominating Hannah for so many reasons, but in particular, for serving as a Rho Gamma this Fall 2016 Formal Recruitment. Hannah loves Pi Phi with everything she has,” Bayley Votaw, Hannah’s little, said. “She is loyal, caring, compassionate, and motivated. She inspires those around her to take on leadership roles, be an active and engaged chapter member, and to be an all around better person. I am so thankful for her and everything she has done for potential new members, the sisters of TX Epsilon Pi Phi, and the Pan community here at UNT.” Hannah was a member of the 2016 Recruitment Team where she served as a Rho Gamma there she disaffiliated from her chapter to help all of the potential new members find their homes. During her time on the recruitment team, Hannah was kind and always willing to help. “I decided to apply for the 2016 recruitment team as a way to better develop my leadership skills and to gain a new outlook on the entirety of primary recruitment. I was lucky enough to be chosen to represent Pi phi and UNT Panhellenic as a Rho Gamma,” Hannah said. “I loved every second of my time with the recruitment team. I gained many friends from different chapters and my love for Panhellenic as a whole grew tremendously.” As someone who has been actively involved in her chapter, Hannah continues to want to do more for everyone in our community. She choose her own chapter of Pi Beta Phi because they emulated her personality and what she was looking for in a home away from home. “I decided on Pi Beta Phi because it is where I felt most comfortable. I loved the atmosphere and I could tell the type of personalities that radiated from Pi phi throughout recruitment mirrored mine. I knew it was where I would most enjoy my undergraduate career and really experience what college and UNT had to offer.,” Hannah said. “Pi phi has given me my absolute best friends and has supplied me with endless opportunities to better myself. I love Pi phi and everything it has done for me thus far and what it will continue to bring me.” The woman behind the letters is a caring woman who would do anything not only for her chapter but the entire Panhellenic Community. Hannah is a great example of what a Panhellenic woman looks like. Congratulations to Hannah for being selected as October’s Panhellenic Woman of the Month!
