At Chester, you’ll get a mix of online learning and in-person teaching.

We’ve learnt a lot about a different way of teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, but even more than that, we’ve embraced it. The University was awarded the Whatuni? Student Choice Award for Excellence in Digital Innovation in 2021, recognising our innovative and impactful digital solutions to improve the student experience and increase digital accessibility during COVID-19.

So, with this in mind, an element of our blended teaching approach will continue at Chester, encouraging learning in social groups as much as possible with in-person teaching, but with lectures able to be accessed online from wherever works for our students.

“University during the height of the pandemic was an interesting experience. Lecturers were very good at delivering virtual learning and continued to provide the same amount of support as ever. I am particularly fond of the asynchronous learning as I can access lectures whenever I need, allowing me to gain a better understanding of the material. In-person sessions were very COVIDsecure; students could socially distance whilst still being able to hear and see all of the information, and it was useful to be able to see peers and help each other with questions.” Ryan Biomedical Science
