Obed Shongwe was born in Johannesburg Albarton and Dancer, Choreographer, Musician, DJ, Beatmaker, Music Programmer & Producer, Script and Music Writer and multi-talent self-business man, who traveled the world in persuade of his dream in music and dancing.
1988 Obed started dancing Cuban & Brazzilian Latin in Private institution From Northern Rodesia 1991 He joined Vuka Afrika Artist (Mr Mike Manana)
1992 He wrote a letter to a Hollywood Star (the late) Mr Patric Wayne Swyze the Dirty Dancing Star ,Obed ask Patric to send him a Mambo, Salsa & Lambada dance training manuals, video tapes and music.
1995 He got an opportunity to work with the Cubans from Cuba Havana (Southern America) This leaded to an opportunity to Travel with the Cuban Music Band and his dance Group
Obed's Dance Teachers & Choreographers: Obed was trained by high qualified dance teachers & Choreographers in SA such as To name but a few: David April (MIDM) Glady's Agulhas(NSA) Moeketsi Koena (IDT) Sello Pesa Portia Mashego Gregory Maqoma Constance Kau Muzi Shili Nhlanhla Mahlangu Themba Nkabinde Jacky Semela David Matamela Debbie Rakusin Megan Kenneth Dave Campbell Tyrone Watkins

2001 Achieved Latin Bronx S.A Grand Prix Championship 2001 Award 2002 Achieved Dance Umbrella & Arts Alive international Award 2006 He was awarded as African Footprint Best Dancer by Swedish Bank in Switzerland (Europe) 2007 awarded by Edcon as Best Community innovation
In 2009-10 he created and choreographed a Theatre Musical Production Titled "Return of the King" in Mpumalanga Limpopo same year Melobed AKA Mr2nys as he formally known in the music industry also as a DJ ,he realized an album "Title World War I", In 2013 he finished his 2 nd album Title "Holy War" wish has 4 singles that are receiving air play on local radio station such as Kasi fm , Yfm, Metro, Khaya fm, Jozi fm, Malahleni fm, Uj fm and his also a member of SAMRO Also featured on other few local Dj's Albums E.g.: Treasured Soul, DJ Freezer Coal, Lolo da DJ to name but a few. Working on my third house Album And also a Clasical fussion album My Dj skill started way back 2004 when i was in Italian tour in Milano, i played in an African Club there. I've worked as a DJ and shared stage with likes of Lady Zamar , Sjava , Twin on da Desk, Dr Malinga, to mention but a few and worked in lots of charity shows 2009-2010 Created/Choreograph, Produced music soundtrack: Musical

19-02-2012 He was asked by Georgina Thonson to represent all Dance Umbrella Choreographers in the DU 2012 Programme(Stepping stones,fringe and Commission ) to Promote and speak on behalf of the Artist (intereview)At the Morning Live SABC2 and also give two Performance of his new work
Presently : I work as Dj in gigs , freelancing dancer, teaching & Choreographing in different school and Dance Companies, facilitating dance workshop around Mpumalanga Province e.g.: Witbank, Bushbuckridge Hezyview(Cork), kwaNdebele(Siyabuswa)
