My name is Mabuthu Simeon Manyike, a song writer, a singer. a keyboard player, and a motivator, I was born in 1976, on the 13 September, in the Nkowankowa location, but my family comes from Nwamitwa, I’m the son of the late Eric Manyike and Mrs. Anah Manyike, I have 5 sisters, me, I’m the only boy child at home, I started school at Dududu primary school, after, I went to Ritavi school, from there, I attended my secondary school at Progress, due to my challenges of my eyesight, I never finished school, as it was very difficult for me to go on, this challenge it started in my early age, as you can see me wearing glasses, , during my primary level, I was going in and out of the hospital because of my eyes challenges, I went through some eyes operations during 1984. My music talent, the love of music, started at the church, in our church, there was a male choir that was established by a group of our church members, when I see them singing, I started following them, until 1 of the members realized that I’m interested in music, so, they allowed me to join them, they started to train me, until I succeeded. I joined them in 1987, until I when out from the group in 1995, then in 1996, at Letaba school,

there was a band that was operating under the institution that was called the Letaba after care center, they asked me to join them, I was a leading singer in that band, on the other side, the church male choir before I left it, they trained me to lead different groups of our church music groups from 1990, during my work with the Letaba after care center band, I started to think of starting my own music project, then I went out from that group in 2004, in 2006, I recorded my first album. the title track was “reboka wena”, it was not easy to market it as I was facing the financial challenges.

At the end of 2005 I recorded another album, title track “holani”, the album that I’m having now, it work well, I won a trophy in 1998, through a royal Fanitures music talent for position 1 I was a soloist singer, I performed in many places, and I performed in the events like Mapungubwe arts festivals in 2009, an 2011, and I’m still found in many events, and my doors are still open 24 hour for any institutions or churches, or, community organizations to invite me.

I like to say to everyone that, you can make it possible, even if you see the circumstances blocking you, if you keep on dreaming big. you will do big things, in my current album I have a song called “unga rili” means: “don’t cry” in this song, I’m trying to motivate peoples who are feeling lost or alone, because of other people undermining, or taking them for granted, or you feel like, because you are poor, then you start to let yourself down, I’m encouraging them, to keep on believing in god, and their god given talents, even myself, I went through that kind of difficulties, , peoples were saying many things, but, I never lose hope, until today, thanks for giving me this chance.

My mom she is the one who supported me, in 1987, she took me to Mr. Sydney Khumalo who trained me to play keyboard, he passed on, after a very short time of my training, I continued to train, until I succeeded, I’m a married man, my wife Memory Matende from Zimbabwe, is always supportive in my music, with love that she gives me, I always feel happy and strong in my life, and in my duties, I also thank god for guiding me every time.

GOD IS ALWAYS WITH ME, IN WHATEVER SITUATION THAT I FACE, AND IS MAKING MY TALLENT TO GROW, IM RESPECTED, BECOUSE OF MY GOD GIVEN TALLENT.
