Birding Trail

Cherished family quilts are made with love and handed down through generations. Established in October 2014, the Roscommon County Quilt Block Trail highlights brightly colored quilt blocks scattered throughout the county.

Take a self-guided tour to find and see our colorful variety of quilt blocks. Many of the quilt patterns tell stories about family, history and culture.

The only inland birding trail in Michigan, the AuSable Birding Trail highlights remarkable bird habitat throughout the Houghton Lake, Higgins Lake, Saint Helen, and the AuSable River area.

The birding trail continues north into Crawford county and includes locations to see the Kirtland’s Warbler, eagles, and other inland birds.
