Age limit for UPSC • The person should have completed the age of 21 years and must not be over the age of 32 years (General category ) on August 1 of the year of examination. • Given age limits vary with caste reservations: • For Other Backward Castes (OBC) , the upper age limit is 35. • For Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), the age limit is 37. • The upper age limit is flexible with certain persons who are backward but also have other causes such as differently abled.
• The number of attempts to give the exams is permitted as follows: • General Category-6 • OBC category-9 • ST/SC category-No limit up to 37 years of age.
