Sean is passionate about hiking and videography. He grew up the son of a Sony salesman, who always had camcorders and video editing equipment around the house. Access to that technology sparked Sean’s interest in videography. About this time Sean had his first major hiking experience. His high school graduation present was an 8-day adventure out west where he thru-hiked the John Muir trail (near Yosemite) and summited Mt. Whitney. From then on he was hooked on videoing his adventures and took video production classes in college.

Since then, Sean has been fortunate that his job requires him to travel to cool destinations and has lived in beautiful places including: Colorado, Montana and the Blue Ridge mountains in South Carolina.

Every chance he gets to get outdoors, Sean takes his cameras and his trusty hiking partner, a Boxer named Gus. Sean captures gran- deur and scale, while displaying the raw- ness and beauty of nature. Out west there are big sweeping vistas, while the Blue Ridge landscape is more up close and intimate. Sean seeks out waterfalls, summit lookout views of the rolling mountains, and the flora and fauna of the upstate region.

Sean utilizes Lightroom most of the time to edit and uses FinalCutPro for video. He tends to stick to social media for display- ing his work, but has printed images for his house, friends & family. These days his hiking and video hobbies have led to paid side gigs that allow him earn extra income while sharing his adventures with others.

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Oconee County, there is beauty everywhere! We are pleased to spotlight Sean Hogan and appreciate his ability to capture Oconee’s special places through photography and videos!

Sean’s Favorite Spots: Lee Falls, Opossum Creek Falls, Miuka & Yellow Branch Falls, and pretty much anywhere on the Chattooga River or Lake Jocassee. Gus loves water!
