FINDING RIPTIDE Hi Everyone, I hope everyone had a fun and safe Mardi Gras! I made sure that I was ready for Mardi Gras this year by preparing myself with delicious events right here on campus! I started out by enjoying delicious meals prepared right on McAlister Avenue by Celebrity Chefs Ernest Servantes and Charlie Guajardo. Everything was so delicious, but my favorite was Charlie’s Sopes with Shredded Beef and Cabbage. The next day, I followed my beak, rather, my nose to the Gourmet Grill on the Gibson Quad. UCD Chefs were serving up fresh Grilled Shrimp Tacos, Grilled Bratwurst, and Grilled Eggplant Sandwiches. Being a man of the sea myself, I chowed down on the delicious Shrimp Tacos. Finally for dessert, I decorated my own King Cake at Bruff Commons! Who knew cakes could be so delicious and beautiful? I hope that everyone takes a much-needed rest from all of the bustle of daily life this week. I know that I’ll be resting my wings with family and friends, and dreaming of the moment that I’ll be back at Bruff Commons Dining Room to enjoy Red Beans and Rice! See you next week, Love, Riptide
