FINDING RIPTIDE Hello, everyone! So everyone’s talking finals, but let’s take a minute to talk about something much tastier and maybe just as educational: Gourmet Grill! I attended the last Gourmet Grill of the semester last Tuesday on the Gibson Quad, and the deliciousness is not winding down with the school year. Oh, and I hate to spread rumors, but I picked up an inkling that Gourmet Grill will be open over the summer, too! I hope that’s true – it’ll keep me in fine food-tasting form over vacation. You gotta use it or lose it! (That saying refers to taste buds, right? How silly of me, of course it does.) Speaking of tasty, I was so happy to share Awesome 80s treats with some friends at Cram Jam on Wednesday night! We took a time machine back to that flashy decade for a tension-relieving end-ofthe-semester party. I, of course, went straight for the cheese fondue, then got right in line for some slimy punch – a bird’s got his priorities. Now back to talking about finals … Finals Favorites, that is! It’s my last chance to sink my beak into my favorite dishes before leaving for the summer. Specials are available all week throughout the campus dining locations, but I’m most looking forward to tacos with Oz at the TacOZ bar! Oz will be serving up delicious tacos on Tuesday, May 6th, and you know you’ll be seeing me there! And from Monday the 5th to Thursday the 9th, I’ll be dropping by Bruff in the moonlit nights to fill up on long-term energy for exams. The special pasta
and French fry bar provides the perfect Finals Fuel, and it’s open until midnight for that last boost of cramming energy! I’ll need that brain food not only for tests, but for tough decisions: How am I going to use up the last of my Wavebucks? The last day to use them is Sunday, May 18th, so if I haven’t converted them all into tasty food by then, they expire. I think I’ll stock up on delicious stuff at McAlister Market during that last week. I’ll need some help getting through the summer without Bruff dining events to sustain me! Hey, my campus friends: take care of yourselves this week with lots of French fries and plenty of sleep to digest them. And take care of yourselves over the summer, too. I’m looking forward to my dining adventures in the Fall, and I can’t wait to tell you what’s new after vacation! See you after summer! Love, Riptide
