FINDING RIPTIDE Hey, everyone, How have your classes been shaping up? Have your first few days been awesome? I hope so! The highlight of my week was roadside saladsampling with Chef Toni. Last Wednesday, I headed over to Le Gourmet to try three of her made-toorder specialties. I couldn’t believe the super-fresh salads made just for me! The Popcorn Salad was my favorite: it’s got sautéed spinach and eggs, which are great brain food, but the best part is definitely the fried shrimp on top! There’s nothing like seafood for quiz days … and, well, every day! This week I’m focusing mostly on getting my just desserts. I’ve been hitting City Diner after classes to cool off from the summer heat with a fresh milkshake. If you’re new here, you’ll definitely want to know that City Diner has a different Milkshake of the Month every time the calendar turns. September’s flavor is vanilla – simple, refreshing, and perfect for laughing off lingering hot weather! This Friday, I’ll definitely be dropping by City Diner again, because on the first Friday of every month they have their special Big City Chocolate Chip Cookie. This sweet treat is a gluten-free giant cookie that’s six or eight inches in diameter – that’s bigger than me! So I’ll need some friends to drop by and help me eat mine. The big beak only goes so far, but I can’t skip my cookie and still call myself a scholar of delicious food. But do you want to know the best part of this week? Go ahead and guess! Give up? I’ll be tailgating at the first home game at Yulman Stadium!

Everyone loves the Superdome, but playing on our own home field for the first time in 40 years is going to be the best experience ever! I’m so excited I can barely squawk. Even tasty meals at Bruff can’t quite keep me distracted from something this epic. And I bet the tailgating food will be the best of the best, with all our game-day favorites ready to go. Word on the street is that Mr. Ironsides and the waffle truck will be there to keep the fans fed. And I hear that Gourmet Grill is serving up build-your-own hot dogs and hamburgers, too. Football-playing friends, make sure you get your nutrients at Peak Performance Plus so we can take on Georgia Tech on our home field! And as for the other fans – I can’t wait to see you at the tailgate for food, fun, and cheering on the Green Wave! Roll Wave! Love, Riptide
