SANCTUARY COLLECTION Amidst the colours of autumn and the winter chill lies an air of romance. It’s moody, dramatic, passionate and wildly beautiful. Even in the depths of the darkest winter, violent wind, driving rain and the sting of icy air remind us, we are alive. Escaping the elements, we shroud our bodies in layers and seek shelter, somewhere warm, safe and quiet. Beneath blankets, a cosy chair by an open fire, or perhaps in the arms of a lover. Safe in our sanctuary, we reminisce the summer past, rejoice in small comforts and long for the first days of spring to arrive…Urban Road’s 2015 Autumn/Winter Collection aims to capture the essence of this passion and drama. Petson’s illustrations have a delicate touch and refined sensibility; often created in silence, frequently applying collage, photography, drawing and painting with a distinctive personal griffe. She works with a 2b pencil, a big flat brush, charcoal, black Indian ink and watered down gold acrylic.

Flowers flirt and, in terms of colour, these blossoms explode, changing the way we see colour... making us dream in neon.” Anna Johnson’s new collection for Urban Road is a homage to the flower in all her permutations. Melancholy for spring, exploding for summer, her paintings evokes favourite vintage print dresses, magical silk scarves, romantic painting from the late Belle Epoque and oddly enough, the complexity of classic French perfumes. Traditionally paintings of flowers represented the seasons, courtship and mortality. In a modern context they bring nature into an increasingly technological life. Georgina paints bright, colourful (sometimes romantic) abstracts, which employ soft veils of saturated colour and flurries of energetic brushwork. The paintings are generally inspired by the awesomeness of nature with the sky being particularly key. Its vast size and ever- changing cloud formations usually prove to be an initial starting point, from which she then incorporates other ideas and themes.

URBAN ROAD Urban Road is an Australian based line of original art prints on canvas. Created in 2010 by Suzie Atkin, self taught artist, who’s passion for art and interiors created a vision for making contemporary original art accessible and affordable. Here at Urban Road we love large prints on canvas. Our art prints are professionally printed on premium poly cotton artist canvas, using giclée/ inkjet printing methods and then stretched and gallery wrapped (which means the image is stretched around the edges of the frame to create a seamless museum quality finish) around a 38mm kiln dried, wooden frame and come ready for instant hanging. Canvas prints are made to order in Australia and take 2-4 weeks for production and delivery. We also offer the option to add a shadow box frame to your Urban Road canvas art print. Adding a shadow box frame to your artwork creates a sophisticated look for an unbelievably affordable price. The canvas sits flush with the frame 10mm from the edge, leaving a 10mm gap between the canvas and the frame for a sleek modern look. The depth of the frame is 40mm.
