Agra Metro

Consulting Engineers Group Ltd. commenced geotechnical investigation work from Taj Mahal to RBS College for Agra Metro Rail Project. This section will be constructed by Afcons Infrastructure - Sam India JV.

The workers of Afcons Infrastructure – SAM India Builtwell JV started construction work for a 7.93-km underground tunnel section (AGCC-02) connecting the RBS College Ramp and Taj Mahal Ramp of Agra Metro Rail Project on April 25, 2022. Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) inaugurated the commencement of diaphragm wall (D-wall) work at Agra Fort Metro Station.

Bangalore Metro

The Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Lavi achieved its 2nd breakthrough and completed 1076 meters of tunneling at M.G Road Station under the RT-02 Package of Phase 2 of the Bangalore Metro Rail Project. This TBM was launched on 10.02.2021 at Shivajinagar Metro station by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) team. With this, a total of 7 breakthroughs were achieved in Phase 2 of Bangalore Metro Rail Project.. The workers of ITD Cementation India Ltd have started casting of 1st undercroft level slab for underground Venkateshpura station under RT 04 of Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase 2.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project

The engineers of Larsen & Toubro has started erection of first segmental launching girder at section 3 of Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor of National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL).

Chennai Metro

Team HCC-KEC International JV launched the first set of U-girders near Ramchandra Hospital Station for 7.945 km (Porur – Poonamallee Bypass) Package C4-ECV-02 of Line 4 of Chennai Metro's Phase 2 Project on April 10, 2022. These girders weighing 164 MT are 27.90 meters long and have been placed on top of piers P293 – P294.

ITD Cementation India Ltd started pre-construction activities at Marina Beach for a 10km underground stretch of Corridor 4 of Chennai Metro's Phase 2 connecting Power House Ramp – Light House Station. Two civil contracts for Packages UG-01 and UG-02 were awarded to ITD Cementation India in January 2022 with a combined contract value of Rs3,743.24 crores.

Delhi Metro

The engineers of Logjian - KEC International (JV) have successfully erected 1st Standard Pier Cap over Integrated Elevated Viaduct at Bhajan Pura (East Delhi) for Double Decker Metro Flyover under Package DC-02 of Delhi Metro's Phase 4 Project. Cengrs Geotechnica Pvt. Ltd., a sub-contractor of AFCONS Infrastructure Limited - A Shapoorji Pallonji Group Company has started geotechnical and soil testing work for 7.46 km underground contract package DC05 (Derawal Nagar - RK Ashram) of 28.92 km Magenta Line (Janakpuri West – RK Ashram extension) under Phase 4 of Delhi Metro Rail Project.

Indore Metro

The workers of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) have cast the first segment for the Yellow Line of the Indore Metro Rail Project. With this development, RVNL has commissioned 15 hectares casting yard to meet implementation targets.

Kolkata Metro

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) commenced mega girder launching for Majerhat Metro station of under construction Line 3 of Kolkata Metro Rail Project. 3 girders (6 pieces) and 4 cross girders were successfully erected by using a 140T crane and bogies on the night of 2/3 April, 2022. The platform has been dismantled for the placement of cranes and OHE modification was done.

Apart from this, RVNL commenced mega girder launching for Majerhat Metro station of under construction Line 3 of Kolkata Metro Rail Project. 3 girders (6 pieces) and 4 cross girders were successfully erected by using a 140T crane and

bogies on the night of 2/3 April, 2022. The platform has been dismantled for the placement of cranes and OHE modification was done.

The workers of RVNL successfully launched the first PSC Girder in Majerhat - Mominpur section of the 15.246 km Joka - Esplanade Metro Corridor (Line 3) of the Kolkata Metro Rail project on April 13, 2022.

Mumbai Metro

The workers of Afcons Infrastructure Successfully launched the 1st Span of Wheel Based Cantilever Arm Beams and Erected Wing Segments at Concourse Level (i.e 5-5 Nos Wings Set on Each Side of Spine Beam ) for Mumbai Metro's Line 05 (Package CA-28). Each Wing is 7.250m long and Weighs around 16MT. Metro Line 05 is the first in Mumbai to use novel Spine and Wings Design to Construct Metro Stations. The workers of J Kumar Infraprojects successfully launched the 1st Steel Girder near Infinity Mall where Mumbai Metro's Line 6 will have a Crossing with Line-2A. The special span has been designed as a Steel Girder of 48m span length. (Contract Package BC-03)

Nagpur Metro

The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha Metro) successfully completed the Load Test at Gaddigodam between Kasturchand Park and Automotive Square Metro Stations in Reach-II of the Nagpur Metro Rail Project. The test involved the stationing of trains at the location with the stipulated load. The collective load of two metro trains and sandbags kept on the track was 460 tonnes. The test is conducted to test the strength of the viaduct.

Pune Metro

The workers of Tata Projects Limited and Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited have been casted the first two pillars of Pune Metro Line 3 (Hinjewadi to Shivaji Nagar) at ESquare & Hinjawadi Phase 3 on April 15, 2022. The 23.3 km Pune Metro Line 3 is being jointly developed by PMRDA, Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited, Siemens Ltd. and Tata Projects Ltd. on the PPP modal.
