dream a little dream... a note from the editor

Tell me your dreams. I know that may seem a bit of an odd request from someone you’ve just met but humor me: What is your dream? Do you have one? Have you lived one? Are you currently living one? Or do you want to keep it secret in case it goes on unfulfilled? Whichever way you look at it, I know and can thoroughly sympathize with you. I have personally been on the receiving and fulfilling end of such a desire. Why? Heck! Why not? What is there to be lost but an opportunity? Who is to guarantee that an equal opportunity will present itself as boldly as the last? If not you, then no one! That’s right!

This premier issue of URCity magazine is about individuals that have aspired to and are now living in their dreams: King Midas (The Midas Touch, page 18) began using his own vocals to breathe life into his tracks and the response has been phenomenal; Nutscola (Nutscola: A Baltimore Promoter’s Household Name, page 14) knew that staying in the streets would propel him to the wrong side of the law – a second time; Nikki Stokes (HGE Designs: A Niche with a Stitch, page #)took her crocheting hobby to new designer heights; Miesha Artis (A True Artis, page 14) never wanted to model until she stepped in front of the camera – now there’s no looking back. Louben Repke (Befitting, page 16) doesn’t hail from Baltimore but has been focused on growing his personal training business; Nix Grayson (Son of a Gun, page 34) has a ton to say but didn’t fully know how to express himself until he found his voice through poetry.

4 more for 44 words catalina byrd visuals greg halpert

On November 6, 2012 the day that had started to feel like it was taking an eternity to get to finally came, the United States of America held their Presidential elections, and President Barack Obama was given another 4 years to continue the work he started in 2009. After a Republican primary that did little for the moral of the American people except give Saturday Night Live plenty of material, Mitt Romney was selected as the nominee, but already too many had grown ill with the message of the Tea Party infused GOP, and many of us were just waiting for November and the ugliness to be over. Conspiracy theories of old resurfaced with talks of President Obama being a closet Muslim and being born in Kenya came back to the forefront with the help of the likes of Donald Trump. Entitlement programs were redefined once again as handouts to the lazy and shiftless as opposed to services provided to those in need still suffering from the economic collapse of 2008, and the reproductive rights of women came back on the table once again, not to mention the laws being pushed in different states attempting to change the way many voted . A campaign that the Republican’s said was to protect the process from “voter fraud” while civil rights organizations and liberals called the efforts “voter suppression”. For all intents and purposes we were certain it was going to be a tight race and that when election night did finally arrive that we may be up very late waiting for the results, but that is not the way that it went, and by midnight on the November 6 – we knew with certainty that President Barack Obama would remain in office. The weeks that would follow the election would prove to be just as fascinating as those leading into it as the conservatives seemed to turn on each other about why Mitt Romney had lost and who was to blame. Few in the Republican base seemed to want to blame their platform or the way that they’d or their candidate had alienated so many Americans, instead they pointed fingers at Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey for his handling of Hurricane Sandy, and blamed it on a promise of “gifts” by the Democrats. The proof of who had really been at fault however could easily be found in the numbers after the election. Voter ID laws had backfired on the GOP and instead of keeping

minorities away from the polls it had made them feel a sense of urgency to get there and wait no matter how long to cast their ballots. Clinging to religion had found its way into not just women’s wombs but even the dictionary as some set to redefine rape and women, even Christian women, could no longer overlook the missteps of the Republican’s campaign. Pundits had feared that a lack of enthusiasm among younger voters and minorities was going to have drastic outcomes but in the end it turned out that not only had they shown up, they did so in numbers even greater than in 2008. President Obama won with women, minorities, and young people in margins that weren’t even close much to everyone’s surprise.

The victory was short lived as back in Washington, stinging from the defeat, the Republicans found their next field on which to start a battle – the fiscal cliff. The fiscal cliff is the ending of the Bush tax cuts and after not reaching a comprehensive deal two years ago, whether or not to raise taxes on the wealthy 1-3% of Americans or on all Americans is more than just campaign rhetoric now. The clock is ticking and all attention switched to whether or not the GOP would work with the administration this time or continue to not work with one another in the Congress and Senate. It has been hyped as though in one day all of the progress we’ve made as a nation will be undone in one day and we will immediately plummet back into recession – or worse…depression. However, this isn’t true. If a deal cannot be reached before the expiration of the Bush tax cuts a deal can still be met before Americans pay their taxes and none of it will ever apply. In fact it works in the President’s favor if they do expire because then the rates will go up for everyone of all income brackets and then, knowing the mid-term elections are right around the corner for the legislature, a deal can be cut specifically for the middle class that make up If a deal cannot be reached before the expiration of the 98% of the country. Taxes and more specifically who will be Bush tax cuts, a deal can still be met before Americans taxed was a central point of the campaign with both sides pay their taxes and none of it will ever apply. agreeing that the national debt THIS STORY CONTINUED ON PAGE 36

Nutscola: a promoter's household name words azure dean visuals charisma

Tell us who you are. I go by the name, Larry Walker ‒ given to me by the wonderful woman that gave birth to me ‒ Mrs. Louse Walker. I was born in Baltimore and raised in the streets of Murphy Homes projects. How did you get started? As I am sure you probably understand, it is incredibly difficult for an ex-convict to get a good-paying full-time job if you don’t have a degree or skilled trade under your belt. Most jobs will not consider you if you have a felony. I was told and taught by real men to create a job and not chase money – chase work. If you create or find a job that you love, you will never work a hard day in your life. I started by first understanding that my street life as a hustler was over but what I learned and the experiences I’d gone through were not wasted. The party life was an opportunity to be in the spotlight and partying every weekend made it easier to get close with the party promoters. The promoters went out daily – promoting events – and I would tag along just to hang out. Most of the promoters had children and even though they were promoting the party, they weren’t living that lifestyle. Sure, they would go out every now and again to show their faces but that was it. I was asked to promote at local malls and maybe show face at a few parties. If I did that, I could get paid (smile). At first, I thought it was a joke but my heart told me that I could make this work. And the name? How did Nutscola come into play? Nutscola is short for peanut – a nickname I used back in the day to keep people from knowing my real name. “Nutscola, the #1 street promoter” is something I spoke into existence. So, what do you do? I took what was handed down by some

of the most successful promoters and initiated a new foundation that opened up promotions to promoters in every part of the city. I took my time and went to each Downtown Locker Room as well as major stores in the malls and started building a relationship that allowed me to leave promotional material in on tables in their stores. These tables were only for my flyers. In the past, promotional tables were for any promotions or for any promoter to leave their information on. If flyers were left, they would usually cover up another promoter’s flyer with their own, especially if it occured on the same date. It was a mess. What I created, was a neat and attractive look for those that wanted their flyers to be seen. I then took this philosophy to the city. I have tables all over the city. I didn’t think that was enough though. I wanted to take the night-time promotion to a higher level. I calculated the time it took to tavel to and promote at least five parties in one night. I would do my homework earlier that day: find out where the party was going to be and how long it would take to get to the next party. Once I had the timing down, I got started moving. Since most people don’t’ come out until after midnight, there is a brief window where I could physically be in the party because most clubs closed at

2am. That leaves less than two hours left to promote at least five clubs. Other promoters would waste too much time in the parking lots. Get in, get out – hit what you can as fast as you can and move on to the next. Where do you see this going? (Smile) Sometimes we try to harder to be more than we are. I truly understand that my purpose was to change my way of living. I wanted to become a man with a plan and foundation. I have been through a lot in my lifetime and being able to work a job that I created made me feel of value. I know that it’s by God’s hand that I am who I am today and that I am happy. The future is uncovered daily. I would love to jump-start a company but I have to finalize a plan. Right now, I am making my way and enjoying where I am. tI must keep working hard (smile). Thanks to God, I will become whatever I put my mind towards. Do you have any last words? Shout out to all the people who have pushed me to be all I could be, especially to Pastor Willard Saunders at the Created for So Much More Worship Center, located 701 Cherry Hill Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21225. 

Beginning of the Year Financial Check-Up Businesses For companies that follow calendar year reporting, January marks the beginning of the first quarter. If not completed monthly or quarterly, company financial statements should be prepared and reviewed semiannually, at minimum. Semiannual analysis and reviews ensures: adequate tax planning, preparation for tax advantages, compliance for state and government reporting requirements, allowance for adjustments and improvements of the company’s budget. Individuals

Now that the new year is here, June 30th is a great date to set a reoccurring reminder on your calendar for a midyear financial check-up. Gathering, reviewing and filing tax documents more frequently, perhaps quarterly or midyear is more advantageous than completing this process annually.

Recommendations Established Business Owners What is the net worth of your business? Businesspersons often focus on the operations and sales aspects of business and neglect to examine cash flow, net income/loss and capital. Such information is pertinent for knowing your business true net worth, longevity and success. Categorizing assets as expenses is a common mistake made by non-accountants. Failure to capitalize assets and record

about the firm

depreciation may result in undervaluing a company. This oversight along with other unintentional omissions could result in penalties as well as paying higher federal and state taxes. All business owners should understand the importance and value of accounting.

cash flow

New Business Owners

How do I report income, when I no longer have a W-2 Form? This is a common question of new business owners during initial accounting consultation. When meeting with new a businessperson; often times, we find that they are not very familiar with the meaning and process of accounting. Some new entrepreneurs lack the knowledge and purpose of the most common financial statements (Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet) and how the statements impact them as owners and the reporting of their annual taxes. Consulting with an accountant before the actual operation of a business began should be considered as one of highest priority, before opening your business. An accountant will guide you through financial aspects of your business; from the beginning processes, through the operational stages, tax reporting and to valuing your business for sale. Accounting, when done correctly, can pay for nearly its own cost through managed time and money saved. Recommendations for For Individuals Taxpayers

The financial status for individual taxpayers may change throughout the years. Before filing your taxes, complete a detailed checklist that is most beneficial

to your individual needs. Some common deductions that are often overlooked include: omitting W-2’s and 1099’s received from reporting parties, deducting careerrelated expenses, itemizing expenses vs. taking the standard deduction, charitable contributions and student loan payments. Having a professional experienced tax preparer ensures proper filing, adhering to new tax laws, and taking advantage of tax incentives. Be sure to maximize your refund and minimize your tax liability. LTG Accounting & Tax Services has a diverse clientele base. We encounter a wide array of financial and tax issues. A true ARTIS What made you want to start modeling?

I always been a performer and entertainer. As a kid I had my own little dance and singing group with the girls in my neighborhood. We use to enter talent shows and perform at block parties. I was also in several plays. High school I joined the modeling team and it went from there. I always enjoyed being in the spotlight. Getting on stage and in front of the camera has always been apart of my life. Do you have a favorite model or designer? No, I kind of just do my own thing.

Do you do anything else other than modeling? (job, career, etc.) I'm a full time student. I just graduated from BCCC with my AA degree. I got accepted into Clark Atlanta University and I will be attending fall 2012, majoring in Broadcasting. What do you like to do in your free time?

With my free time I love to work out at the gym, shopping, and spending time with my family. Do you believe that Baltimore has a unique fashion style? If so what is it in your opinion?

Yes, Baltimore has a unique fashion style. The words that describe Baltimore's fashion style are urban and cool. Were you born and/ or raised in Baltimore?

Yup, I was born and raised in East Baltimore. Do you have a favorite Baltimore restaurant? Blue Moon

Is there a favorite club in Baltimore that you like to go to? Select Lounge

Is there anyone or anything that inspires you?

My mom inspires me 100 percent. She is the definition of a strong women. She worked two full time jobs and raised my sister and I on her own. Wile it is immensely evident that Caddy’s gruff bravado and commanding voice completed the song - causing the rapper’s career to justifiably thrive afterward - it’s undeniably King Midas who made “Grindin’ On Me” pop with his infectious sing-song hook and percolating club beat. King Midas flew to Miami with Caddy to shoot the song’s sunny video and helped make the song a modest radio and club hit even in markets outside Baltimore.

Although he’d been making beats for years under his Left Brain Productions company - often for Baltimore rappers of note - King Midas would occasionally sing hooks on his productions. “Grindin’ On Me” marked the birth of King Midas as an artist in his own right. "Dealing with Baltimore artists - that's what's close to me. But dealing with them and their buzz got me recognized in certain spots and internet social networks to the point that now I have a nice little catalog." In the past year, his ability to write and perform entire songs - not just hooks - has blossomed. "I just stepped my musical game up," he says. "It's a big pool of sharks out there; cats who know what they doin', so I can't be the one that don't know what I'm doing." Solo tracks like “Inside Out,” a remix of “Grindin’ On Me,” and “Waste My Life," which received a slick video directed by Darrell "TaylorBoy Nate" Howard, have made a buzz on YouTube and blogs. a mixtape tentatively titled Better Days that's dropping in August. One of Midas's favorite recent tracks is a remix of Gotye's pop hit "Somebody That I Used To Know" with rappers Bink and Day Day Da Great. "I haven't done a lot of stuff like that," he says. "But that's the first song that I felt like, I was kinda mad that I didn't do that song. That song was crazy, so I just had to play with that." Midas’s technical proficiency and well-honed instincts belie a childhood surrounded by music; the Northwood native’s father is a singer/songwriter and keyboardist. Growing up, Midas dabbled in piano, bass and drums, before finding his true talent in producing, arranging instrumentation and programmed tracks together to produce a cohesive, fullbodied song. Soon, he became an obsessive music fan: poring over liner notes and figuring out which artists he'd like his own career to resemble. "I look at the credits and stuff, I like to see who wrote things, I like to really know who made this record what it is. I give kudos to those cats because they do a lot of writing on the low, but then they sing their own stuff too," he recalls. As he worked his way up the ranks in Baltimore hip-hop, King Midas networked with rappers like Smash, J-Starr, and DBoi Da Dome. He wasn’t the only one bearing his name: a prominent Baltimore rapper was at one point using the name Midas. But more recently, that artist changed his handle to DDm and remained on good terms with King Midas, who produced DDm’s 2010 single “Velvet Limousine.” When King Midas began performing hooks to songs like “Grindin’ On Me,” his delivery was melodic and soulful, but he clearly doesn’t consider himself an R&B singer. And while he’s stepped up his rhyming ability to set verses to his solo tracks, King Midas is also reticent to put himself in the category of rapper. Like an increasing number of urban music’s biggest artists, from Drake to Chris Brown, King Midas moves freely between singing and rapping. But unlike those artists, his default identity is not ultimately pinned to one vocal style or the other. "I would call it sing-rappy; like it's a mixture. Real cool type, getting the point across like a rapper, but being able to create harmonies and melodies that appeal to someone who's not a rap fan," he says. "I wouldn't wanna say I'm a rapper, because then I'm stepping into that whole world. It's just soul music, if you ask me." Of the many hats he wears, “producer” is still the one that best defines King Midas, even as he makes moves toward solo stardom. And that’s still the way he’s making his biggest strides toward industry success. Late last year, King Midas received his biggest production placement to date: “Original,” the first new single in nearly a decade from New Orleans rap star Mystikal, now signed to Cash Money Records. King Midas had previously connected with fellow producer Detail, best known for the Lil Wayne hit “How To Love.” After Midas sent Detail an early version of the “Original” beat, the Cash Money beatmaker added his own touches to the track and brought it to the attention of Mystikal, who made it his comeback single, featuring both Lil Wayne and Birdman. Though the long incarcerated Mystikal recently returned to jail for a parole violation, halting the momentum of his rebooted career, “Original” still made some major waves, and became King Midas’s most widely heard production to date.

Nothing in particular, just as a kid it was something that always interest me but I was too busy with other sports and activities so I never got around to it. Now that I’m a little older I wanted to do it before I got too old. Do you have a favorite model or designer?

Tyson Beckford, just because of the way he got into modeling and how great of a career he has had. Do you do anything else other than modeling? (job, career, etc.)

I’m a full time personal trainer; I run this business that I started 4 years ago located in Severna Park. I’m also a full-time student; I’m in school to become a nurse practitioner. What do you like to do in your free time?

The few hours of free time I have I love to work out, and hang out with friends. Do you believe that Baltimore has a unique fashion style? If so what is it in your opinion?

For me whenever I hear of Baltimore I think more of dancing, such as Baltimore club. I love club music. Were you born and/ or raised in Baltimore?

I was not born in Baltimore, but I grew up in the area and have friends all over. Do you have a favorite Baltimore restaurant?

I love Black Olive and since I love Italian food my other choice is Sotto Sopra (it’s a bit expensive though). Is there a favorite club in Baltimore that you like to go to? I really don’t go to the club that much but I used to go to Hammerjacks, TheParadox, etc… Is there anyone or anything that inspires you?

Personally I just have a lot of ambition/drive. Growing up poor really is what inspired me, so whenever I see an opportunity, I chase after it.

quite Befittin' Where do you see yourself in five years?

Working for myself and having my own practice as a Nurse Practitioner.

A New year? A new you! words irinirin

Achieving great physical and mental health is more than possible by eating the right foods and maintaining effective physical exercises

The positive physical health of foods are certainly obvious when you will start eating only the foods your body needs as opposed to the foods your body loves. More and more people are struggling to lead a healthier life from this point of view but it seems that many of them just don't know what to eat and in what moderation to achieve their goals. To get a better understanding of your bad eating habits, you will need to keep a food journal. A food journal specifies what you've eaten, at what times and in what amounts. Tracking your eating pattern in this manner will pinpoint what items you need to focus on before you start creating a diet or participating in any diet plan. Your journal should be kept for at least two weeks to get a full understanding of your food intake. The journal will also need to encompass extenuating circumstances like eating at social gatherings, while driving between appointments or eating during lunch breaks. All the positive foods you consume can be highlighted in a single color of your choice and other foods - the not-so-good for you foods, i.e., sweets and fried fatty foods - they'll can to be highlighted using another color. Keeping such a journal seems to be an effective way for you to cope

your new diet plan. Fats like unhealthy trans fats and saturated oils are definitely not recommended for those wanting to include healthier eating into their lifestyle. Trimming fat from cuts of meats and the skin from poultry will equally help with reducing the saturated fats. Aslo, when permissible, substitute low trans fat cooking sprays or olive oil when butter, margarine or regular oil are called for. Changing your food outlook will so cross over into your beverage choices. If you drink plenty of sugar filled sodas, swapping them with lower-calorie or reduced sugar options like iced tea, lemonade or the best substitute - water - is also suggested. Reducing the amount of sugar, alcohol and caffeine consumed daily is also recommended. In terms of water intake, drinking eight to nine 8 ounce glasses per day is standard. The amount of vegetables and fresh fruits consumed daily should be increased. It's preferred they are consumed fresh. When they are not available this way, frozen vegetables and fruit over the canned varieties are a good option. Salad dressing might look and taste delicious, but they hide plenty of hidden sugars and fats and should be at best avoided. If that's not possible, they should be replaced with zero fat or low fat salad dressings. Most people dread the word "excercise" and understandbly so, but it should be said that physical exercises paired with a good diet will dramatically increase the effectiveness of your diet plan. By exercising you will not only allow your body to strengthen its immune system, increase and better its vital functions but you will also manage to improve your sexual health. People who exercise will not only have more stamina in bed and last longer, but they will also experience more powerful orgasms. It doesn't really matter if you are 18 or 80, because once you start stepping on the path of leading a healthier life by eating healthy foods and exercising, you will be let in on these benefits and even more.

SON OF A GUN (A POEM) WORDS NICHOLAS FOSTER AKA NIX GRAYSON VISUALS DARIA JOHNSON

A LITTLE ABOUT NIX GRAYSON (HIS OWN WORDS) I am the child of a the toughest woman to ever wear a pantsuit, the son of a bastard father who was tough enough to pull men from burning buildings but too much of a chicken shit to show his face at my 10th birthday. Tattoos, piercings, comic books, video games, colorful underwear, explosive mania, 7 pairs of Chuck Taylors, an amazing daughter, a bunch of shitty exes, devotion to language, allergic to bullshit but swallow it by the spoonful, stiff upper lip, ashy knees and a mean right hook. WITHOUT FUTHER ADO...NIX GRAYSON The measure of a man cannot be measured in grams or architectural plans, inches, miles, money piles, or x-ray scans we are measured by the falling of sand, where do you stand? As seconds pass the minute hand, mice to minutemen, claiming sets or clans protect your family, or they are taking your people and pillaging? Understand, that they - powers that be malevolently bring hate to your hood, cloak and dagger, propaganda plaster, proselytizing pastors proclaiming to be our masters. So its understood, that they are claiming this land, So you can fallback or take hold, it's your choice as a man choose peace or a weapon to send a message, with blood splatter and gray matter, as you stand at attention, like a henchman, but I choose to use this pen and watch it set in, lines ink of rhymes that move mountains with every mention, make men blink think and catch a lesson, check the method, I’m professing: That we make mistakes based on second guessing what should be second nature, like from tree to paper, water to vapors, that

lovers turn to haters turn backs then turn to fire but can’t turn back the pages; That we can’t wait on science or Jesus to save us, keep debating on who made us make up a manifesto to have us respecting nature, I count my words like money changers count cash crops in this economy - if I offend you? My apologies. This should not be a matter of philosophy, but of survival so equality shouldn’t be a statement understated, This ideal of society, is wrought with despondency, and child’s pleas constantly echo off deaf ears and brick walls incapable of acknowledging that utopia can be more then a concept for study in sociology. But at present, people still question my bloodlines. My skin is yellower then a Englishman, tan - not dark enough to be a nigger so am I a son of slaves or of the enslavers? The victim and the rapist? The savage and the sadists,? So a small pox mark is bound to be native on my hardened heart, to play a role, to play my part, to make a mark, I need to come with a maker’s mark. But I refuse to be branded, handed a hard copy of prejudicial guidelines, with my personality noted in the bylines, it's a fine line, on the dotted sign line, turn a blind eye, play the game or sit on the sidelines. But I’m not a benchwarmer, ride-the-pineguy, not a hippie who wears tye dye, I’m a suit and tie guy, but I dare you to call me a sell out, Uncle Tom, house nigger, or fake, because I refuse to choke back words. They swell out of my foul mouth, anger like hair trigger and my fire? No meager man could take, no fleshly pleasure can satiate, hostage taking won’t negotiate, and my sanity is the martyr; cause there’s no clear path else my eye would’ve spied, the blood on the ground might’ve dried,

penS Npad the newspapers wouldn’t have lied, and compassionate people wouldn’t cry over the machinations of hate. So now I call on the fire starters. Burn bras, burn cookies, burn curious fingers that linger too long over wicks, burn ticks, burn dollars, burn tires, burn higher, burn til we are reborn from fire... Phoenix

Heaven...individually sliced and warmed to perfection WORDS & VISUALS AZURE DEAN

FOOD? CHECK! TABLE? CHECK! wAITER? wAITER? wHERE ON EARTH IS OUR WAITER?

We've never met (at least you don't look familiar, lol) so you couldn't possibly know this but I have a confession: I am a fat girl. Yes, I know it's not politically correct to call people fat these days. We've taken to vocabularies that barely scrape the surface of insensitivity without fully taking the plunge but nope, not me: I am a fat girl. This fact alone makes my little heart do a little dance because I get to give the scoop on a quaint cafe and coffee house located right here in East Baltimore, Morning Edition. Morning Edition is nestled on the corner of Patterson Park Avenue and Fayette Street; 153 Patterson Park Avenue, to be exact. Morning Edition does not boast loud, neon signs nor does it entice passersby with a signage contrary to its interior: there is simply a small sign in the window with Morning Edition lettered in a semi-italic typeface. Upon entrance, you are not only surprised at the scale of this restaurant, you are taken aback by how much love and care went into the vignettes scattered throughout the space. This place emits a warm and cozy that is reminiscent of the last visit to your grandparents house. The decor is that of an eccentric aunt: overgrown flora coupled with gently loved antiques, homemade rope-wrapped dining chairs and even a few banquets resembling Gothic church pews. It is truly amazing that all of this dare fit into this barely-there row house. The menu - two pages of handwritten offerings - has a little something for everyone as well as atypical dishes, like cheddar sausage french toast and steak and lobster omelets. The combinations are creative but not as adventurous as that of Fells Point's Blue Moon. If you are a meat and potatoes kind of guy (or gal), never fear - Morning Edition carries the traditional staples like croissants, a variety of muffins, pancakes and the like that will

LAST BITE

easily satisfy your appetite. Not being a fancy lass, I order my favorite: Belgian waffles topped with strawberries, scrambled eggs with cheese and a side of ham. For starters, in addition to my drink order, I was presented a basket of homemade banana bread instead of rolls, pumpernickel or even corn bread as dished by some of the larger, mainstream eateries. There are several varieties and I taste-taste each one deciding which is my favorite. I cannot decide because there are great qualities about each one. They are all delicious and offered by the loaf if you are unable to get enough. The prices are recession-proof for most entrees, starting at around five bucks and not venturing too far from that. The portions are substantial and the food is good. This isn't rocket science. Me hungry? Me eat. Me likey. Could the service have been a little more accommodating? Could the delivery have been a little swifter? Yes. Does that effect my decision to visit Morning Edition again? I doubt it. I am an understanding consumer - too understanding at times - but after speaking with the owner, my gripes were met with a discounted meal for the inconvience. How can you argue with that? Now, I'm not saying that you should run up a hefty tab and complain about the service just to get a comped meal. I am not condoning that scam at all. I am simply saying that if you do decide to venture to the land known as Morning Edition: call first.
