COURSES AND WORKSHOPS IN ENGLISH

Welcome to join our inspiring and creative courses during the festival!

The courses are for adults and young people and have a limited number of participants. Register and pay at Markusgården’s course office. The course fee is 100 SEK. Forgot to pre-register early during the festival? Any spare spots are distributed on site where the course is held 20 minutes before the start of the course, pay on site and drop in!

Vocal workshop Radiant Arcadia

Welcome to share the magic of singing together! Radiant Arcadia contains eight skilful musicians of different nationalities. They invite you to a vocal session where all of you as a group together will create the form of the experience. These artists practice many different musical traditions such as Klezmer, Opera, Arabiq maqam and Qawwali, to mention some. Come with or without experience, with an open heart and soul, and find out what the collaboration of your voices can become!

Tango course La Porteña Tango

Learn the beautiful art of Tango with the dancers of La Porteña Tango! Tango masters Carlos Guevara and Débora Godoy will guide you through the classical forms and rhythms of this fluent, intense and intimate dancing form, and share some background and basics. Bring a dancing partner, welcome connection and express yourself through dance!

Rythm & Forms in Kurdish Music Ali Dogan Gönültasş

Music is one of the strongest and most important transmitters of many experiences, thoughts and feelings spanning centuries for the Kurds. The workshop will begin with key concepts and a brief background and continue with examples from some thematic forms such as migration, death, work, love, marriage and faith. At the end of the workshop, a song will be sung with all participants. Explore Kurdish music traditions with Ali Doğan Gönültaş!

Body Percussion workshop Brincadeira

The Body Percussion Workshop is an original and different proposal where our bodies are the essential part and it’s suitable for all ages! Through it we learn different rhythmic figures and use urban songs to experience the sound of our body and connect ourselves with the music.
