Curriculum Vitae

A graduate from Academy of architecture and an enthusiast in life, architecture has given me a suitable platform to channelize my energy and thoughts. Just like a story or poem, every space has a tale to narrate. Thus, attempting to balance emotions, senses and functionality forms the crux of my design process. Believing that hard work always pays off, I strive to push myself the extra edge to focus better and create a deeper understanding of things that can help me progress.

01 PERFORMING ARTS INSTITUTE (DANCE) 1. Today, dance has become a form of commercial bollywood business instead of a form of art. Higher education gives a perfect opportunity to an interested individual to explore this as a form of art and expand their horizon. 2.Being Trained in a degree, prepares the individual in all aspects of the dance from ranging from practical to theory and also helps the performer to take it to an international level and represent the country on a higher level. 3. Almost none of the institutes in insia offer a platform that allows a practice of classical and western dance form togther under a single roof. For both these dance forms to floruish its important that they co-exist and amalgamate to create better content that can be showcased to the world.

8

CURRENT SCENARIO IN DANCE EDUCATION When asked for thoughts on education in dance and opportunity for dance as a career in a survey, following were the answers derived.

Basic infrastructure is not developed.

Performing arts can play an important role in an individual’s life and makes their personlaity verstatile. Requires more visibility and encouragement. Its growing but pace is slower. Parents should be supportive about this art. Encourage art just as we encourage engineering. Should be considered as a compulsory subject. Fees should be nominal

DESIGNED PROGRAM PRIVATE

PUBLIC

Based on the subjects required for dance to be learned professionally in a university, certain fucntions are essential to be incuded in the program. All of these functions contribute to the wholesome growth of the dancer and allows him/her to expand their knowledge through interaction, collaboration and theoretical knowledge. Since the institute accomodates various dance forms, for every dance form to flourish it is important that the studets thrive on its original culture as well as form a new culture that signifies the amalgamation of two different dance forms together. Individual dance studio for Dance each dance form.

More information should be provided to the common man

Fitness

Basic motivations and opportunities are required since school time.

Music

Music room Recording studio

Theory

Lecture rooms - Library - Computer room

There should be more performances done to art encourage the art.

Gymnasium - Yoga Mediation space

A dance institute thrives not only only the studio spaces but also on what amount public interaction dose it offer. For the dancers to flourish in their careers, a showcase of their talent is extremely important. Thus, the different auditoriums become a vital part of the institute that help the students in expanding their horizon. Along with this, the auditoriums play a role in helping the institute to sustain and manage their finances by being let out for different events and organizations.

DANCE FORMS Different types of theaters. Black box theater Thrust stage auditorium Proscenium theater

The institute accomodates dance forms that ar classical as well as western. All of these dance forms have a good potential to mingle and share a cultural background. This can help the students in learning a new art and developing their skills better all around. Odissi

02 LOGISTICS HUB WAREHOUSE AND TRAINING CENTER The selected plan is a part of the master plan designed by us in which we chose to detail out the highlighted portion. The program was designed in a way to make the make the entire process of porduction more customer friendly. It also aims towards being able to educate people in the required feid so they can work better. The design aims at creating a safer space in primary since such loactions can be intimidating. Thus, using containers as a facade even in the education space breaks the monotonous tone of a warehouse dominated site and makes it more lively. The program has been designed to function efficiently for user of any age and social class along with close proximity and being acessible.

03 SENIOR HOUSING SOCIETY The given project has been developed for senior citizens that can stay in this residential park. Thus the program has been designed in a way that all the required amenities can be easily accessible and disable friendly. The design offers various landscape areas for the residents to relax and walk around. The hightlight of the design forms the clubhouse on the terrace that includes a gym, restaurant, swimming pool and other features.

04 YOGA STUDIO + RESIDENCE Since the user is a well known yoga instructor, the design reflects an amalgamation of the outer surroundings with the ambience inside. The house revolves around the courtyard with major circulation happening through the courtyard to make it a more lively space. The above floors follow the same pattern with the accomodating rooms having a sea face view.A balance has been maintained in open and enclosed spaces to bring an extensive portion of nature in the interiors and create an enviornment suitable for rejuvanating yoga practices.

The cantilevered gardens of every room, also serving as weather protection for the room below.

The intersection between the studio and residence. With a huge window with obstruction to provide enough light as well as to mantain the privacy of the bunglow has been given in the studio.

30

The mezannine in the studio works as a isolated space for the users to practice and meditate in solace. The partial parapet wall works as an open garden for the users to enjoy the view of the sea. Also, the huge height with timber windows adds to the vastness of the space.

The pergola acting as a connection between both the functions.

05 ART AND CRAFT CENTER The design was inspired by Gadisar lake itself ,which has beautifully incorporated steps as a medium to travel.Similarly here, effort has been made to make the staircase an exciting space by using it as a display gallery..Also,their work place has been designed to increase interaction with the tourists. The stepped profile going underground has been consciously designed to increase the floor plate and to acheive a cooler work enviornment. The overall facade uses jali work to ensure light coming in at all times and creating an interesting play of shadows to enhance the displayed work.

32

08 SCHOOL DESIGN First year - 2014 DESIGN IDEOLOGY 1.Though it is grond structure, the amphitheatre above can be used as a multipurpose space like assembly hall, discussion area, play area, outdoor classroom. 2.The kindergarten buildings are dome structures that give an informal look from the exterior with reading rooms on the upper floors. 3.There are slides and sitting areas on the steps to make the spaces more fun and intteractive. The sports complex has all the required facilities for the all round development of the students. 4.After entering the school only a vast amphitheatre is seen which hides the fact that it is school very efficiently. 5.The structure is designed in a radially outward manner similar to the roots of the tree, the center being the play area and the recreational spaces. 6.The amphitheatre creates a lively and energetic atmosphere for the childrenfor the children as it offers vast open spaces which can be used for various activities.
