PUMP CONTROL UNIT - PCU The Pump Control Unit - PCU is an integrated electronic management system used for the pump of a firefighting vehicle with an integrated water tank level gauge. It can also be used to control other vehicle systems such as valves, lighting, warning lights, etc. The main function of PCU is Pressure Governor which allows automated regulation of the engine RPMs according to the pressure fluctuations in the pump, which ensures a constant water flow at the nozzle regardless of thte number of connected users.
The automatic pressure regulation is turned ON by turning the rotation switch - encoder. This will cause the pressure to increase to 4 bars. The pressure can subsequently be adjusted to the desired value using the encoder in 1 bar increments. The value on the LED display flashes until the pump pressure reaches the desired value. If the manual keys for manual control of the RPMs (pressure) are used while the automatic regulation is running, the automatic regulation will be turned off. When pressing the IDLE key, the control unit sets the engine RPMs to IDLE.

MASTER CONTROL UNIT - MCU The Master Control Unit - MCU is divided into a few functioning sets: PUMP ENGAGEMENT (PTO), PROGRAMMABLE and ILLUMINATED KEYS, INFO DISPLAY AND WARNING LIGHTS, RPM MANAGING SET, WATER AND FOAM TANK LEVEL GAUGE and DIGITAL PRESSURE INDICATORS.
The Pressure Governor allows automated regulation of the engine RPMs according to the pressure fluctuations in the pump, which ensures a constant water flow at the nozzle regardless of the number of connected users.
The MCU has available 14 factory-programmable keys that can act as switches or push buttons. Keys can be assigned different color-coded symbols such as pictograms or colors.
The automatic pressure regulation is turned ON by turning the rotation switch - encoder . This will cause the pressure to increase to 4 bars. The pressure can subsequently be adjusted to the desired value using the encoder in 1 bar increments. If the manual keys for manual control of the RPMs (pressure) are used while the automatic regulation is running, the automatic regulation will be turned off. The pressure can then be increased and decreased manually or set to automatic again by turning the encoder.
The MCU can power up to 29 digital outputs (MOSFET), which are individually protected by a thermal reversible fuse (0,7 A) and 4 relay outputs (1 A). There are also available eight conditional inputs, protected with optocouplers which may be connected to the positive or negative voltage.

S&L MONITOR
SHUTTERS AND LIGHTS MONITOR FOR SPECIAL VEHICLES The S&L Monitor is designed to monitor open side boxes (shutters), roof boxes, ladder and display the status of different kind of emergency and other lights on the special vehicle. Key advantage: Water and foam remote display can be integrated in the panel. The state of monitored devices will be displayed as color- coded LED warning lights.
Monitoring is provided throught18 digital inputs. Digital inputs are connected via uP to 37 LED lights. Digital inputs can be connected to GND or +24V signal, to detect the status of connected lamps, shutters or other switches. An integrated photo sensor detects the ambient light and automatically adjusts the LED intensity for day or night operation.

TANK LEVEL GAUGE - TLG08 FOR WATER / FOAM TANKS
Tank Level Gauge - TLG08 is designed to display a liquid’s volume at an accuracy level of 1/8 of the tank using 9 ultra-bright LEDs. For example, when the tank level is below 1/4 the LED at 1/8 is flashing, when the tank level is below 1/8 the red LED at 0 turns on. As an additional option an external device (such as buzzer or siren) can be controlled by a relay output pin on the indicator unit.
The indicator is able to communicate with the other displays (Remote Indicators) via the one wire datalink. The unit uses a 0-600mbar (0-8.7PSI) temperature-compensated pressure transducer to obtain tank level information. The transducer measures the coloumn of the liquid in the tank above the opening of the elbow and provides a signal that is proportional to the volume.

TANK LEVEL GAUGE - TLG20D FOR WATER / FOAM TANKS
Tank Level Gauge - TLG20D is designed to display a liquid’s volume to 5% tank level accuracy with a 7 segment ultra-bright LED display. When the tank level is below 25% the display fl ashes and when the tank level is below 10% the relay output is turned on (optional).The indicator is able to communicate with other displays (remote indicators) over the one wire datalink.
The unit uses a 0-600 mbar (0-8.7 PSI) temperature compensated pressure transducer to obtain tank level information. The transducer measures the column of liquid in the tank above the opening of the elbow and provides a signal that is proportional to the volume.

The Tank Level Gauge - RTS operates based on the conductance of the measured liquids. The electrodes are placed at each quarter length of the probe. The LED indicator (ultra-bright LED) signals the level of the liquid. The red LED indicates that the liquid level has reached less than 25%.

PTO TIMER The PTO is engaged/disengaged using the main transmission clutch and a remote control mechanism which physically engage the PTO itself. Typically an air valve is used to engage the PTO. There are a number of different types of PTO and different engagement procedure.

FLASHER Flasher is an electronic device with two output signals which can control blinking lamps mounted near the left and right front and rear corners of a vehicle, and also on the open steps, if mounted on each side of the vehicle. The Flasher can be activated by the driver or automatically by opening the side steps.
