The nearest town is Livermore, 15 mi., & every0ne should bring all they need. Hotels are available in small numbers in Liverm0re & Tracy. Groc. stores in both towns. The site has a variety of hills far all types nf flying. The S.C.H.G.A.

BYLAWS OF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HANG GLIDER ASSOCIATION, INC.

ARTICLE I -

NAME AND PURPOSES

Section 1. The name of the organization is the Southern California Hang .Glider Association, Inc., hereafter referred to as the Association, or Assn. Section 2. The primary purposes of the Assn.are to engage in the development, study, and use of fuel-less flight systems and aircraft capable of being launched by·r11.ima.n power alone, to make knowledge. relating to these subjects available, and to organize. meets. where the testing and flying of such systems and aircraft will be encouraged. ARTICLE II -· AFFILIATION Section 1.

This organization will be affiliated with the Self-Launch Flight Group, Inc.

ARTICLE III -

MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. The membership of the Assn. shall consist of the charter members and individuals whose applications for. membership have been accepted by the Assn. Section 2. Classes of membership .shall consist of the following: Member, and Family · Member. Services, privileges and annual dues for each class of member will be as provided in: these bylaws and as established by action of the Board of Directors. Section 3. · A Member will receive the Assn 's periodic publication at no charge as a bene-. fit of his dues, have use of Assn-operated flying sites and facilities, and may vote as provided for in these bylaws. Section 4. A member of the immediate family of a Member residing in the same household may become a Family Member upon payment of half the Member dueso A Family Member receives the same benefits as a Member except the Assnvs periodic publication. Section 5. A minor must have the written consent of his parents or guardian and sign the Assn's release of claims before flying at any Assn-operated flying sites or facilitie~.· ARTICLE IV -

MEETINGS OF MEMBERS

§.ection 1. Monthly meetings shall be held on a regular- ·aate establ:ished .. by the -Board of Directors. A quorum :for the conduct of business shall be eleven (11). Section. 2. The monthly meeting held in January each year will be the annual meeting for the purpose of electing officers and directors and conducting such other business ma;r properly come before such meeting.

ARTICLE V ~ BOARD OF DIRECTORS Section 1. The Board of Directors shall be composed of five members, the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and flight. Director. Section 2. The duties and powers of the Board shall be to deal with . all .. routine business which comes before the Assn. ,draft an annual budget, evaluate. and present to the members all matters of special concern, and to report all actions of the Board .to the members. Section 3. Regular and special meetings of the Board shall be called at a time and place determined by the President. (Over)

at all meetings. Section 5. Any vacancy on the Board of Directors shall be filled by a special election by the members at their next regular meeting. Section 6. Each member of the Board of Directors shall serve without compensation or reward, except as otherwise provided for in these bylaws. ARTICLE VI -

OF:FICERS

Section 1. The Officers shall be elected by the voting members at the annual meeting and shall hold office for twelve (12) months or until their successors are elected. Section 2. The President shall preside at all meetings, appoint all committee chairmen with the approval of the Board of Di.rectors, sign and execute all contract's in the riame of the Assn.when authorized to do so by the Board of Directors, and sh.all have general supervision over, the: management of all affairs of the Assn. · Section 3. The Vice-President shall be vested with all the powers and, shall perform the duties of the President in case of the absence or disability of the President, and shall perform suc::h other duties as mc1y be delegated to him by the Board of Directors. Section 4. The Secretary shall keep· th'e minutes of all meetings, be responsible for all meeting not;Lces and keeping of historical records for the Assn., and shall perform Sl,lGh other duties as may be incidant to the officE~ of Secretary. ....... . Section 5. The Treasurer shall keep the membership.records, receive and deposit all funds, execute all checks for expenditures authorized by the Board of Directors, account for all . . receipts, disbursel!lfints and balance on hand each month, and shall. perform such other duties .. · as may be incident to the office of Treasurer. ARTICLE VII -- FLIGHT COMMITTEE Section 1. The Flight Director shall be chairman of the Flight Conunittee.· and shall appoint assistants as needed to aid him in the supervision of flight. activity at Assn.operated flying sites and facilities, and shall perform such other duties· ..:is may be incident to the position of Flight Director. ARTICLE VII!. Section 1.

SPECIAL COMMITTEES.

Special committees may be formed by the President at any time p.S deeme.d necessary.

ARTICLE IX~ SUSPENSION, EXPULSION AND REMOVAL FROM OFFICE Section 1. A member may be removed from office, ;suspended for a period, or expelled for cause, such as violation of any of these bylaws, or flight regulations, or other rules of the Assn~, or for conduct prejudicial to the best interests of the Assn. Such action shall require a two-thir9,$; ( 2/3) vote of all the voting members at a: ·regular meeting, provided that a statement of the charges and a notice of the time· ·and place of the meeting have been mailed to the member at least seven ( 7) dayi, before the meeting, and that the member will have an opportunity to present a defense at the meeting.· ARTICLE X ~ FINANCES Section 1.

The fiscal year shall be from January 1st t6 December 31st.

ARTICLE XI -:- AMENpMENTS Section 1. Amendments to thestf bylaws niay be· made by a two-thirds (2/3j_ vo.te .of .. the voting members present at.. any regular meet:lng. Proposed amendments must be stated in the meeting notice.
