Talking About the Responsibilities of Swimming Pool Lifeguards On our weekends we all love to take a splash at the local swimming pool -enjoying and socializing is what we look forward to. And then we see these people sitting on a high chair - welcoming the swimmers with a smile with a hawk eye on the pool - meet the swimming pool lifeguards. When we are in the pool or on the beach side, we often feel jealous of their profession: its adventurous, full of excitement, they don't have to wear corporate uniforms (pun intended), have the luxury of diving in water as and when they feel like, etc. But as quoted by a famous phrase, “every coin has two sides - working as a lifeguard has its own set of rules and responsibilities.

 Lifeguards are expected to work as a team with other fellow lifeguards as well as swimming pool operators.  They are also responsible in enforcing swimming pool rules and regulations in a professional and efficient manner.  Attending to all staff meetings and helping to smoothly schedule staff trainings.  Maintaining a strict watch over the swimming area and the users foresee issues that may arise. Also, they should be able to prompt enough to identify an emergency.  They should be qualified enough to carry out emergency actions and perform first aid under any mishaps. No doubt, lifeguards are on duty to respond any emergency situation immediately however, the appointment of a certified pool operator cannot be neglected. Swimming pool operators are the ones who maintain the water quality of a swimming pool. If they are inadequately qualified or trained, the lives of the swimmers will always be at risk.
