IMPROVING QUALITY AND ACCESS TO CARE >

Through the work of the Clinical Operations team in conjunction with the Informatics and Quality Improvement committees, departments are measuring organizational effectiveness that are reported in month key performance indicators. Patient satisfaction, wait time satisfaction, preventive screenings, feedback, and other indicators of effectiveness are tracked so improvements may be continuously implemented.

< MENTAL HEALTH IN THE COMMUNITY

As a Jed Campus partner, USC Student Health has made a commitment to structural commitments to enhance the mental health of our student population. Outreaches such as the “Let’s Talk” series brings counseling into the community with regular weekly drop-ins held in the Student Union and other key locations; and the addition of new counseling positions have made it possible to increase capacity for individual counseling and groups.

< USING A PUBLIC HEALTH FRAMEWORK

Following recommendations from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s framework of the “Triple Aim” of healthcare, USC Student Health uses a public health framework to improve the health of the college population we serve. Our goal is to empower individual patients and communities, and substantially broaden the role and impact of primary care and other community-based services to assure a seamless journey of care: from prevention and education, to capacity-building among campus partners, to fully integrated access to care. 3
