are
invited
to
join
community
college
leaders
from
across
California,
Hawaii
and
 the
Western
Pacific
for
the
fifth
annual
Summer
Leadership
Academy,
sponsored
by
the
 Department
of
Leadership
Studies
at
the
University
of
San
Diego.

This
academy
is
 unique
among
other
leadership
programs
in
that
the
curriculum
is
based
on
The
 Leadership
Circle®,
a
thoroughly
research‐based
and
proven
process
for
enhancing
 leadership
effectiveness.

•
Individualized
Program

 Prior
to
the
beginning
of
the
Summer
Academy,
each
participant
will
take
an
on‐line
 TLC
assessment
and
will
select
5‐7
others
to
give
them
(anonymous)
feedback
in
the
 process.

During
the
Academy
participants
will
receive
personal
and
confidential
 consultation
related
to
their
TLC
profile
results.

You
will
then
develop
your
own
 Action
Plan
for
follow‐through
back
on
campus.

•
Addressing
Community
Colleges
 Faculty
from
the
University
of
San
Diego
and
senior
leaders
from
California
 Community
Colleges
have
collaborated
in
designing
a
curriculum
for
the
Summer
 Academy
that
balances
personalized
developmental
activities
with
practical
 applications
sessions.

The
content
sessions
address
themes
such
as
leaders
as
 learners,
data‐based
decisions,
integrated
and
strategic
planning,
viewing
campus
 cultures
as
systems,
multi‐cultural
aspects
of
leadership,
and
student
success
 strategies.

•
Learning
Community
Approach
 The
Academy
format
includes
individual
coaching,
small
group
activities,
and
large
 group
seminars
all
of
which
are
arranged
in
a
dynamic,
learning
community
 approach.

The
program
takes
place
on
the
beautiful
campus
of
the
University
of
 San
Diego
in
the
recently
constructed
facilities
of
the
School
of
Leadership
and
 Education
Sciences.

•
Costs
and
Registration

Cost
for
the
four
day
Academy
is
$1150
which
includes
The
Leadership
Circle®
 assessment
and
consultation,
instruction,
course
materials,
meals
and
snacks.

For
 colleges
that
send
three
or
more
participants,
the
per
person
cost
will
be
reduced
to
 $1,000.

Event
housing
is
not
included
in
the
price,
but
reasonable
campus
housing
 is
available
as
well
as
near‐by
hotel
accommodations.

Priority
registration
ends
 April
30.

Last
day
to
register
is
May
