As the semester winds down, just a note to say thank you for supporting GSA this year. To all of you graduating, congratulations! And to all of you coming back next Fall, continue to keep the SOLES community hoppin’! Best of luck as finals approach – 20 days (or less) to go!
This Week’s Events: Grad Fest II Monday, May 4, 2009 10:00AM – 5:00PM USD Bookstore Missed the first one? You may still order graduation announcements, class rings and diploma frames, and a professional photographer is available for pictures as well. Pamper Me Day Friday, May 8, 2009 11:00AM – 3:00PM UC Forum A & B Come unwind before finals with seven different massage therapists and a meditative station for practicing yoga. There will be informative tables from the Center for Health and Wellness instructing students on how to reduce stress. At the end of the day there will be a raffle for awesome prizes. Other Upcoming Events: Walk for Hope Saturday, May 9, 2009 7:15AM – Registration 8:30AM – Walk Begins The 10th annual Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer will take place again on USD campus this year. Proceeds from the walk go to City of Hope. Sign your team up now at www.walk4hope.org, or join an existing team. They are also in need of volunteers to help run this great event.
GSC End-of-Year Party Saturday, May 16, 2009 Onyx Room Come celebrate the end of the year downtown with GSC! More details on this fun event to come!
Graduate Luncheon May 21, 2009 11:30AM – 1:30PM SOLES Patio Graduating SOLES students: Please mark your calendar for our annual GSA Graduate Luncheon on the SOLES patio. You are invited to bring your guests as we celebrate you in your accomplishments. Group graduation photos and a parting gift will also be a part of this nice event as well as recognition for our faculty and staff. Graduating students are free and guests, faculty, and staff are $10/each. Tickets go on sale from May 4th to May 15th at the UC Box Office and SOLES. See you there!
Graduate Commencement & Reception Saturday, May 23, 2009 1:00PM Jenny Craig Pavilion Following the ceremony, come celebrate with your classmates, family, and friends at the graduation reception in the West Plaza of the SOLES building.
ISO Coffee Hour Thursdays – a weekly event 12:30PM – 2:30PM UC 128
The International Student Association invites all students to come relax and mingle at the UC. Meet new people! Free coffee, hot chocolate and tea will be provided.
Career Services Drop-In Advising Thursday Afternoons – a weekly event 4:00PM – 5:00PM MRHH 122B, next to Bert’s Linda Scales, Director of Career Services is available every Thursday to discuss your career questions, review your resume, provide interviewing tips, assist in job searches, and more. Available on a first-come, first serve basis. If dropin hours do not fit your schedule, please call Career Services at 619-260-4654 to arrange a meeting time.
