Professional Administrative Services Credential (Tier II) ELDA New Leaders Program Program Overview The Educational Leadership Development Academy (ELDA) at the University of San Diego offers the New Leaders Program to provide candidates the opportunity to earn the California Professional Administrative Services Credential. The program has been designed to support and continue to coach new educational administrators (principals, vice principals, and central office administrators) to successfully lead and improve instruction. Because candidates are full-time school leaders, and because the only work that will increase a leader’s ability to lead a school or department is work that has relevance and applicability, coursework and assignments are directly connected to the demands of the candidate’s position. The program teaches new leaders how to develop, strengthen, and actually use leadership skills to accomplish their goals. Each candidate will be assigned a mentor, an exemplary administrator, who will work with the new leader to analyze the new leader’s leadership skills, reflect on the needs of their school or program, problem solve, design and execute plans, and use data to continually improve instruction. It is the combination of coursework and mentorship that creates powerful transferable learning for new candidates in the ELDA New Leaders Program.

Distinguishing Features • Ongoing collaboration with a coach/mentor. • Program focus on instructional leadership. • Opportunity to earn a master’s or doctorate degree. • Discounted tuition.
