She has supported hundreds of survivors as she provides education on victims’ rights, information, and increased safety and support through the civil relief process including protective orders and civil immigration relief. She provides a place of safety and trust. Pepe has been a steadfast advocate for the Latinx community as a founding partner in establishing a coalition of service providers, PC Unidos, to better understand the needs of the Spanish speaking community and to expand conversations, networks and solutions to assist families and individuals with culturally and linguistically relevant services and support.
Jeff Silvestrini is Millcreek’s first mayor and has shared his vision for selfless service with the entire city. One of Jeff’s proudest accomplishments was the formation of the Millcreek Promise Program in January 2018. The mission and vision of Millcreek Promise is to mobilize and support Millcreek residents to build community, bridge divides, and lift all boats. He is truly a public servant in every sense of the word--he has served his community long before he became Mayor, and will serve long after.
Robert and Kathi are the perfect examples of philanthropists as they not only give of their resources, but also their time and talent. The Garffs see a need, and find ways to either support currently existing programs and organizations, or create pathways to help fill those needs in the community. They are extremely generous and not only write the check, but they work with their partners to ensure the funding is maximized to its potential to help fulfill the organization’s mission.
Bob Garff used to say “Education is the great equalizer.” By offering these programs and supporting students in their higher education journeys, the Garff family is driven to make sure education is accessible and available to all students throughout Utah.

Andelin Mbaki is a young community builder, already determined to bring people together by finding common ground. Her tireless efforts and positive attitude invite all around her to find their purpose and get involved.
During her tenure as Miss Iron County, Andelin implemented her social impact initiative: Standing Higher in New Environments (S.H.I.N.E). As an immigrant herself, Andelin created this initiative to help others coming to the United States find their voice, place and passion within the community of Iron County. The beauty of Andelin’s platform S.H.I.N.E is all encompassing. Many believe that they need to take up only one issue, but Andelin believes there is beauty in the diversity of culture, age and relationships. And that S.H.I.N.E. can bring all those things together.
Katie as a young widow formed the Live Your Dream Foundation in 2010 with the purpose of helping single mothers finish their education and improve their employment opportunities. This foundation, with Katie at the helm, is a game-changer in the lives of scholarship recipients. It provides both financial help, but also a boost of self-confidence and a support system that helps these women have the strength and courage to grow and develop after the death or divorce event in their lives. Since 2010, Live Your Dream has awarded 181 scholarships for single mothers, totaling over $307,000.00. Katie runs the foundation as a labor of love, and all funds go to scholarship recipients.
Kristin and Emily are fighting to end period poverty and to redefine the 21st century bathroom—a bathroom in which period products are as common as toilet paper.
They have traveled all around the state, building support from legislators from both parties, companies, foundations, and communities of women and girls. Their extraordinary efforts paid off in the passage of the legislation requiring every public and charter school in the state to provide access to free period products in every girls’ and all-gender bathroom. They are smashing stigma, and showing the whole state that “Girls are worth it. Period.”
