INTERNATIONAL LLM PROGRAMS
LLM IN INTERNATIONAL TRANSACTIONS AND COMPARATIVE LAW The LLM in International Transactions and Comparative Law is your gateway to a thriving career in American, international, and comparative law. The program equips students with a strong grounding in legal theory and practical skills to move their career forward in the United States and abroad. Students may focus on international business and commercial transactions law, international human rights law, or an area of American law as the subject of a comparative law study. Through a hands-on clinic, students may travel to New York or Geneva to participate in United Nations human rights meetings and conferences, bringing to life the theories learned in the classroom.
LLM IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND TECHNOLOGY LAW This LLM program is designed for a diverse group of lawyers — from seasoned practitioners looking to stay abreast in a constantly changing field, to recent graduates wanting to get an edge in a market where specialization is increasingly important to employers. Our alumni practice all aspects of intellectual property law for law firms, governmental agencies, and corporations in the U.S. and abroad. Skills training and career development are key features of the program, and networking opportunities with alumni practitioners abound.
LAURA RIVERA MARINERO ’09 Democratic Governance Coordinator, United Nations Development Program, El Salvador
“My USF LLM was the turning point in my path to an international law career. Going to Geneva with the International Human Rights Law Clinic was an opportunity to put into practice the theory I learned in the classroom. I also acquired negotiation skills that I use on a daily basis.”
CYRIL MATSWETU ’13 Licensing Counsel, Dolby Laboratories
“I was immediately welcomed into the supportive USF law school family. The IP courses I took laid a strong foundation on which I was able to build a deep knowledge of the IP field.”
