WHAT IS THE OFFICE OF NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS? The USF Office of National Scholarships (ONS) advises and mentors students through competitive national scholarship applications. We use a purpose-driven and intentional approach to student success. This means that we help students reflect on their own passions and goals to help them find opportunities that will move them forward personally, academically, and professionally. As part of our office's application processes, we assist students with essay writing, acquisition of reference letters, application questions, mock interviewing, and more.
What do students have to say? "The one-on-one mentoring allowed me to ask all of the questions that I had and receive thorough explanations that emails don't always provide." "I've never written such beautiful essays before. This process was incredible." "I feel that I am better able to connect my academic pursuits with personal passions. I can now integrate my personality into professional writing in a way that does not hinder it, but improves it." "Through this process I was able to figure out exactly what I want to get out of my study abroad experience, in regards to not only going abroad but coming back. It allowed me to see how this program will affect me forever, both emotionally and academically."
What's Inside? This guide features four national scholarships that can be applied to study abroad programs for undergraduate students. Advisors in the Office of National Scholarships are able to mentor students through the application processes for all of these awards. In the back of the guide, readers will also find information on other opportunities including USF Education Abroad Scholarships and other highly competitive programs that may provide full scholarships upon award.
