Dear Friends,

On behalf of Toyota, welcome to the 2020 U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce National Conference. Although we are not able to meet in person this year, we’re grateful to have technology that allows us to connect virtually from wherever we may be.

This has been an extraordinarily challenging year on multiple fronts, and the USHCC’s role has never been more vital. With 200-plus local chambers and more than 4.3 million members, the USHCC’s collective voice representing and advocating for Hispanic businesses as we navigate our economic recovery has taken on special importance.

The USHCC is working hard behind the scenes — testifying on Capitol Hill and writing letters and making phone calls to Washington legislators and policymakers — to ensure that Latino entrepreneurs are considered in recovery initiatives. The USHCC’s efforts help everyone — small, medium, and large Hispanic-owned firms — and that in turn helps the business community at-large.

This year has also served to highlight disparities in healthcare access between the Hispanic community and the community at large. It is incumbent upon all of us to work to eradicate this inequity in any way we can.

If there’s a key takeaway from 2020, it’s that we must support one another in times of crisis. No one can win if someone else loses. That’s why it is crucial that each one of you is here, contributing to this virtual conference and to the USHCC. We must ensure that Hispanic entrepreneurship recovers from this devastating year and stands ready to thrive and flourish. The wealth and health of our shared Latino community depends on it.

On behalf of Toyota, we wish you a productive conference and look forward to greeting everyone in person in 2021.

¡VAYAMOS JUNTOS!
