I’ve attended Jill Eggleton’s Literacy Institute multiple times and every time I learn more and solidify my literacy teaching and beliefs. I believe in Jill’s philosophy of balanced literacy and the approach to connect all literacy learning to context/meaning. Jill’s shared reading books are magical for the students. I absolutely love to share a big book and/ or poem with my students that they are excited about. Reading with my students is exceptional when using Jill’s approach and resources. When I use my learning from Jill to teach literacy my students LOVE reading! Melanie Schneider Literacy in Action Teacher
