We save the best for last. The final semester of your teaching certification is known as the professional semester. It includes research, secondary and content methods, instructional management and full-time student teaching. Although the program can be completed in two years, you may elect to take coursework at a slower pace. Classes are offered only during specific semesters, so it’s advisable to develop a plan of study early in the program. Passing Praxis II scores are required in both content and pedagogy in order to become certified.
