Welcome USPTA Professionals, our friends at the USTA, presenters, friends and family to the 2024 USPTA Florida Convention This year’s conference features a slate of new speakers that are some of the top leaders in our industry from the business, tennis and pickleball professions The USPTA Florida Board would like to welcome you all to “The Grand Slam Gathering”!

I’d like to first thank Ellen King and her whole staff for hosting us this year at the beautiful Coconut Point Hyatt Regency Hotel. I think you will all find this site extremely suitable for a world class convention as well as world class relaxation. Don’t forget to take a moment to float down the lazy river, lounge by the award-winning pool facilities and maybe even take a boat ride out to the private beach!

I would also like to acknowledge the USPTA Florida Board for working tirelessly this year to put on what we hope and anticipate to be one of the best conferences in recent memory. I am so proud of this group of Board Members and their total dedication to providing you, our membership, an experience that is worthy of your time away from your facilities. I have to mention them each by name so that when you see them you can thank them for all of their hard work: Regional VP Jose Pastrello, VP Jim Morton, VP Michele Krause, VP Matt Bacon, VP Ron St John and Past President Joe D’Aleo In addition, I’d like to thank Mike Baugh our Executive Director who in his first year as ED has done a terrific job in helping the board organize this year’s conference.

This year’s agenda is special, starting on Thursday with our traditional golf scramble at 8:30am along with Paula Schebs free specialty course “Unwritten-This is where your book begins”. The afternoon showcases a Panel of top HR professionals teaching us “How to stay out of trouble in a changing world”, top GM’s helping us to understand the Art of Interviewing and how to land our dream job and then culminating with our Welcome Reception at 6:00pm.

Friday will start with our Pro Cardio Tennis Triples at 7:00am before feature education from the most famous doubles team in history, 16-time Grand Slam Champions Bob and Mike Bryan. The Bryans will run an on-court training session followed by a playing lesson and Q&A panel later that afternoon. We will have a 40-seat bus to transfer our attendees back and forth to the tennis facility directly after the morning Breakfast and Brainstorming. On top of this we have a premier GM panel moderated by our CEO Brian Dillman on the Future of Racquet Sports. Brian will also deliver the National Update at 4:15 which will lead straight into our Vendor Party!! This is going to be a day to remember.

Saturday we are focusing more on pickleball education, something most of us are now deeply entrenched in. We will start our day with 7:00am Yoga for Tennis. At 9:00am we begin with “Preparing to grow through programming” a Pickleball Panel of top USPTA Professionals who will share information on how they built and run their programs and much much more Following the morning panel we will have Ryan Sherry, former top 5 singles player in Pickleball, and Kyle Yates, former number 1 pickle player in the world and 6-time US Open Champion, demonstrate some on court drills and tips followed by a panel discussion on the sport with Q&A from the audience. The day will wrap up with our Awards Dinner where we will celebrate and recognize our USPTA stand outs from 2023.

Shuttles between Hyatt Regency and Pelican Landing Tennis Courts run continuously during on-court sessions, departing from Hyatt at 8:30AM.

Peak shuttle times are from Hyatt to Pelican Landing (8:30AM-9:30AM) and from Pelican Landing to Hyatt (12:00PM-1:30PM).
