PRESIDENT ’ S MESSAGE

Dear USPTA Southwest Tennis Professionals, It has been a long two years since we have all been able to be together in person but the time is almost here! If you have not registered for the USPTA World Conference in Las Vegas, I would encourage you to get that done right away so you don’t miss out on one of the great perks of being a USPTA member. My favorite thing about the USPTA and being on the board is the opportunity to network and see all my colleagues face to face. I can’t tell you how excited I am for the chance the week of September 19-23 in Las Vegas. It’s just a short drive or flight from the southwest so I hope that you all take advantage and we have a big turnout once again!

The conference will once again be held at the Westgate Resort and Casino which proved to be a perfect location in 2019. There is plenty to do, all the seminars are right there and transportation to the strip is easy and accessible. If you are a sports fan, they have one of the best sportsbooks in Vegas and the history which includes Elvis Presley is fun. Rooms are still available so it’s not too late to get a reservation. Once you register for the conference, a hotel link will be sent to you so that you can get your room.

The slate of speakers and education is once again a world-class of who’s who. Seminars begin on Sunday morning with a specialty course and continue all week with a diverse group of speakers and topics including our own Greg Prudhomme and Amanda Fink! Greg is speaking on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. on Performance Psychology – Motivation, Confidence and Resilience and Amanda is on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. speaking about The Art of Delivering a Successful Clinic. Let’s all make sure we are there to support Greg and Amanda! Other fun events will include Ad Staff meetings on Monday afternoon and the Trade Show on Monday night, the Awards Luncheon on Wednesday as well as a Q & A with Stan Smith that day and finally a networking BBQ on Thursday evening.

The one event you won’t want to miss and I hope to see everyone at is the division party on Tuesday night at the pool at Westgate. This year we are partnering up with Hawaii, Norther California, San Diego and the Pacific Northwest. It will be a great opportunity to not only network and socialize with the Southwest professionals but also those in other divisions on the west coast and beyond. I would really encourage you all to be there and have a drink with me and the rest of the board. We would love to see you there!
