Welcome from the USSA Chairman Dear Summit Attendees, On behalf of the US Superyacht Association Board of Directors, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to each of you attending our inaugural USSA “Superyacht Summit” here in West Palm Beach, Florida. Our purpose in developing this event is to convene Association members and other industry leaders to discuss superyacht trends and issues, provide educational programs for personal and business growth and to network with peers to strengthen your ties with current and new industry colleagues. While the concept of a Summit has been discussed by members and the USSA Board over the past few years, it has become a reality in 2014 through the efforts of many volunteers. You will hear from several of those volunteers serving as moderators and panelists as they share their business knowledge. In particular, I wish to acknowledge and thank Jim Perry, our Board’s Legal Counsel who has chaired the Summit Committee to bring you a program that I am confident you will find compelling in its content and interesting in its delivery. I must also thank Kitty McGowan, and her team at NautiCom Communications for providing the energy needed to execute all of the arrangements for our Summit including selecting the location, managing the registration process and assisting the moderators and panelists in their preparations. In addition, an event of this type, cannot possibly happen without the generous contributions of our many sponsors. Please do not forget to acknowledge their generous support of our inaugural USSA Superyacht Summit. Finally, my hope is that you can leave the Summit with concrete ideas that you take back to your business and can immediately put to work. Your USSA Board will feel satisfied that this inaugural Summit has been a success if you can point to real value added to you and your business. Welcome to the inaugural Superyacht Summit! It has been my pleasure to serve as the Chairman for the U.S. Superyacht’s Association’s very first Superyacht Summit. We had a strong group of members and industry leaders, who worked diligently with our management team, to build an event that our superyacht industry and Association could be proud to participate. We hope that you find the content compelling and useful in your daily business. There is a wealth of information packed into the one and a half days of Summit activities. Special thanks to our speakers, moderators and panelists who have worked hard to put together strong programs for you. It is also our hope that you take the opportunity to spend time during these social events to meet with friends and reach out to new ones! I want to thank those fellow sponsors that stepped up to support the Summit. As a young association, the importance of the Superyacht Summit is pivotal in the growth and development of the USSA. This event gives our industry a platform and a national voice. It also gives our members the opportunity to get involved and participate in building a vibrant and strong association.
