My shoe, it slipped, so gently off As I began to run. The memory of what I had just done Now frozen in my brain. Too scared to tum around And pick up my slipper of glass, My heart loudly pounding As I feel him right behind me. Never had I twirled, and whirled So much before today, A thing I didn't mean to do. But with all the excitement, My intent began to fall, Before long my purpose gone, And I had forgotten exactly why I had come to this ball. But had I not, things would be worse Imagining him with her, Together they could wrongly rule the world. Oh now my heart it pounds, and pounds As I begin to grab this door. ..
