SUPER TENNESSEE DEFENSE
¢ Tennessee set a program record for shutout defense last week in California. Spanning six games, the UT defense went 533:22 without allowing a goal. The Lady Vols enjoyed three shutout victories and one scoreless tie in that stretch. The previous program record was 471:10 set over seven games in 2011. ¢ The NCAA released its first weekly stats rankings of the season on Tuesday. Tennessee’s defense stands as one of the best in the nation, ranking sixth in goalsagainst average (.270) and eighth in save percentage (.917) and tying for eighth in shutout percentage (.714). Sophomore Julie Eckel is 11th among all Division I goalkeepers with a .290 goals-against average.
