FIRST SERVE THE ARKANSAS REMATCH ¢ Sunday afternoon’s meeting between the Tennessee Lady Vols and Arkansas Razorbacks marks the 32nd all-time meeting and the second this season. ¢ The teams have faced off at least once a season since 1994. UT currently holds a 16-15 advantage in the series, but the Hogs claimed the last match by a 3-1 margin in Knoxville just over three weeks ago. ¢ Arkansas held the early advantage in the series, winning 12 of the first 15 meetings. However, the Lady Vols won 13 of the next 15 meetings, including an 11-match winning streak vs. the Hogs. The Razorbacks snapped that streak with most recent victory. ¢ Last season, Tennessee topped the Razorbacks in both meetings in straight sets. ¢ This marks the 17th matchup in Fayetteville, with the series currently tied at 8-8. The Lady Vols handled the Hogs 25-19, 25-16, 25-19 on Oct. 2 last year to even the series on the road. ¢ Prior to the meeting three weeks ago, Tennessee had won 11 consecutive matches, including four in straight sets. Including those four, there have been 14 meetings decided in three. There have been 10 matches decided in four and seven that have needed all five sets to decide a winner. There has not been a five-setter between the squads since Oct. 8, 2010. ¢ Coach Rob Patrick is 15-12 all-time vs. the Hogs.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT ¢ Tennessee posted its third consecutive five-set win in six days when the Lady Vols rallied to defeat LSU (15-25, 26-24, 24-26, 25-21, 15-7), in Baton Rouge on Wednesday night on ESPNU. ¢ The Big Orange improved to 6-1 on the year in five set matches and earned the back to back to back feat for just the second time in program history. ¢ With her first kill of the third set, junior Kelsey Robinson became the 18th Lady Vol to join the 1,000-kill club, finishing the match with 18 kills and 17 digs to notch her SEC-leading 12th double-double of the season. ¢ Sophomore Tiffany Baker led the way for the Orange & White, compiling a career-best 24 kills and scooping 10 digs for a double-double. ESPN cited Baker as one of their weekly Capital One Cup Impact Performances of the Week on Saturday. ¢ Just six days after posting a career-best 34 digs against Mizzou - a mark that ranks second at UT in the rally scoring era - junior libero Ellen Mullins finished with 32 digs at LSU. ¢ Tennessee also got 64 assists and 16 digs from sophomore setter Mary Pollmiller and 13 kills and 10 digs from redshirt senior Kayla Jeter. It was the first time this season the Lady Vols for had four players record double-doubles in a single match. ¢ Senior defensive specialist Jasmine Brown also contributed a career-high 14 digs at LSU for the Lady Vols. Tennessee totaled 106 digs in the match, tying a rally scoring record with a mark that was set on Nov. 26, 2005 in a five-set victory over Notre Dame.

ROBINSON EARNS MEMBERSHIP ¢ Heading into the break at LSU on Wednesday, Robinson pounded her 998th and 999th career kills to comeback and win the second set, 26-24. Right after the break, the Bartlett, Ill., native slammed down another - her 1,000th career kills in the Lady Vol uniform. ¢ With that kill, she became one of just 18 Lady Vols to eclipse the 1,000-kill plateau. She enters this match with 1,010 kills, just two shy of tying Chris Jestilla’s 1,012. ¢ Below is a chart of UT’s 1,000-kill club: UT’S 1,000-KILL CLUB Rank Player (Yrs) 1. ¢ UT has played seven five-setters through 17 matches this season and holds a 6-1 record in those meetings. ¢ The seven five-set matches this year are more than the Lady Vols have played all season in six of the last 10 campaigns. UT played 9 five-setters last season and finished with a 6-3 mark in those matches. ¢ Wednesday night’s five-set victory at LSU was the Lady Vol third straight win in five, marking just the second time in program history the team has won back to back to back five-setters. ¢ UT defeated South Carolina, Auburn and Kentucky in consecutive five-setters in 2008. ¢ This year is just the second time the Big Orange has ever won two pairs of back to back five-setters in the same season. The Lady Vols also beat Iowa State (Aug. 25) and Colorado State (Aug. 31) in consecutive five-setters earlier this season. ¢ Tennessee fought back from a two-set deficit against UGA on Sunday. It was the 16th win after being down 0-2 in school history. From 1997 to 2008, the team was only able to accomplish the feat once. Since 2009, UT has won one match that way every season.
MULLINS: SEC DEF. PLAYER OF THE WEEK ¢ After her career day in the back row against Mizzou, Mullins was named the SEC Defensive Player of the week on Monday afternoon. It’s the second time of her career she has won the award. She posted a ca-

reer-best 34 digs against Missouri, a mark that stands as the seventh-highest total in school history and second most in the 25-point rally scoring era. It’s also the fourth highest single match total in the SEC this season. ¢ On Wednesday, she added her second highest dig total with 32 at LSU, becoming just the third Lady Vol to record at least two matches with 30 or more digs in the same season. ¢ The Nashville native has started every match at libero for UT this season and upped her average to 4.11 digs per set. Mullins has posted 12 or more digs in all eight conference matches this season and currently ranks sixth in the SEC in digs pet set. ¢ Mullins is looking to become the 12th or 13th (depending on Robinson) Lady Vol to join the 1,000-dig club for her career. She currently has 908 career digs.
CAN YOU DIG IT?
¢ After posting a season-high 98 digs at home against Mizzou (Oct. 5), the Lady Vols bested that mark just six days later when they tied a UT rally scoring record with 106 scoops at LSU on Wednesday. ¢ Tennessee has recorded 50 or more digs in 12 of 17 matches this season and have recorded 98, 79 and 106, respectively, in its last three matches. ¢ The Lady Vols have climbed to fifth in the SEC in the category with an average of 15.7 digs per set.

¢ For the third consecutive season, Tennessee opened its campaign in the national rankings, as it came in at No. 15 in the AVCA Preseason Poll. The preseason ranking was the ninth in program history for UT, who concluded 2011 rated as No. 19. ¢ On Aug. 27, the Lady Vols moved up one position to No. 14 in the nation following wins over Cincinnati and then-No. 10 Iowa State. UT fell down two notches to No. 16 after posting a 2-1 mark at the Shocker Volleyball Classic. ¢ The Big Orange went 3-0 at Maryland’s SpringHill Suites Invitational with three sweeps, but dropped one spot to No. 17 in the AVCA Poll on Sept. 10. ¢ After opening their SEC slate 2-3, the Lady Vols dropped out of the top 25 on Oct. 1 for the first time in 17 polling periods and since September 2011. ¢ Wins over Mizzou and Georgia would see the Lady Vols back in the top 25, but they are receiving votes for the second straight week (Oct. 8). ¢ The 16-week stretch was the fourth longest in school history. UT had two stretches of 19-straight weeks (2009-11; 1982-84) and one stretch of 17 consecutive weeks (2005-05) in the poll. ¢ After entering the rankings at No. 24 on Nov. 30, 2009, the Lady Vols spent 19 consecutive polling periods in the Top 25, until falling out for a four-week span last season.

season at UT, Jeter had the breakout performance that she had been waiting for against Georgia (10/7). The All-American posted a career-best 27 kills, breaking her previous mark of 23 set as a sophomore at Kentucky, and hit .444 against Georgia with 12 digs to notch her first double-double of the season. ¢ The 27 kills from the Solon, Ohio native ranks as the second-highest single-match total in the SEC this year, behind only her teammate Robinson, who notched 29 vs. Iowa State (Aug. 25). ¢ The outside hitter added her second straight double-double at LSU, going for 13 kills and 10 digs. She’s averaging 1.97 kills per set and hitting .252 this year.
TENNESSEE IN THE RPI ¢ The initial NCAA Division I Volleyball RPI of the 2012 campaign was released last week with the Lady Vols coming in at No. 27 in the nation. After defeating Mizzou and Georgia, UT jumped six spots to No. 21 in the second week of the RPI rankings. ¢ Six of UT’s 11 wins have come against top 75 RPI teams: Colorado State (36), Wichita State (39), ISU (44), Mizzou (48), South Carolina (67) and UGA (72). ¢ In addition, all five of the Big Orange’s losses have come against top 50 RPI squads: BYU (11), Kentucky (18), Arkansas (20), Florida State (16) and Missouri (48). ¢ The SEC has five teams in the top 24 and seven squads in the top 50 of the RPI rankings: Florida (13), Kentucky (18), Arkansas (20), Tennessee (21), Texas A&M (24), Auburn (45) and Missouri (48).
TENNESSEE ON THE ROAD ¢ After hosting its annual home tournament, the Comcast Lady Vol Classic, from Aug. 24-25, the Lady Vols were road warriors. UT traveled to Wichita, Kan., and College Park, Md., for two regular season tournaments and Columbia, Mo., Tuscaloosa, Ala., Lexington, Ky., and Baton Rouge, La., for SEC play. ¢ Tennessee is 4-2 in true road matches this season, with wins over Wichita State, Maryland, Alabama and most recently LSU. UT also has three wins at a neutral location on the campaign. ¢ In 2011, the Big Orange finished with a 14-3 record in matches away from Thompson-Boling Arena, including a 3-1 mark in a neutral location. ¢ Dating back through the 2008 campaign, the Lady Vols are 42-17 in true road matches. UT is 69-40 in away matches dating back through the 2004 season.
RECORD WATCH ¢ Robinson enters the week with 985 career digs and is eyeing some milestones. With 15 digs, she can become the 12th UT player to reach 1,000 career digs.
¢ When she reaches that mark, she will join an even more exclusive club, becoming one of just five Lady Vols in school history with both 1,000 career kills and 1,000 digs. ¢ Mullins currently sits at 908 career digs, 92 shy of joining the 1,000-dig club. If Robinson reaches the club first, Mullins would be the 13th member. Last season, she finished with 471 digs. In 2012, she has scooped 288 balls through 17 matches. ¢ Below are charts on the current UT record watch: UT’S 1,000-KILL & 1,000-DIG CLUB Player (Yrs) Kills (Rk.) Digs (Rk.)
