1 H E DESERT OF WEST-CENTRAL U T A H is a long way from the Meuse River and the Argonne Forest, yet, improbable as it may seem, it briefly became a theater of action during World W a r I. In this instance, however, there were no trenches or gas attacks, and American doughboys did not face the steel-helmeted troops of Kaiser Wilhelm.
